De tour begint met een wandeling door de beroemde Nawate Street, ook wel bekend als Frog Street, in het centrum van Matsumoto. Deze straat is volledig afgesloten voor privéauto's en biedt een ontspannende omgeving om te winkelen, wat lokaal ijs en snacks te proberen, of een bezoek te brengen aan het aangrenzende Yohashira-heiligdom.
Vervolgens wordt u na een korte wandeling naar het kasteel van Matsumoto geleid. Dit kasteel is een van de slechts twaalf overgebleven originele kastelen in Japan en een van de grootste en meest indrukwekkende van die twaalf. Het is alles wat je moet zien om meer te begrijpen over de Samoerai-levensstijl en het bestuur in het oude Japan. Nadat u het kasteel van Matsumoto heeft verlaten, stapt u in de speciale tourbus en stapt u op weg naar de poststad Narai-juku. We had the most amazing one day tour with our guide Hiroshi! We ended up booking on a cold and rainy day, which worked out for the best as we were the only ones on the tour and both Matsumoto and Narai-Juku were not very busy. There is a bit of driving involved but it’s totally worth it to learn all about two important and beautiful landmarks in Japan. The tour guide went above and beyond answering all our questions, and providing so much knowledge about the two landmarks. Would highly recommend!
Our one-day journey to Matsumoto Castle and Narai-juku was truly memorable, and it would not have been this seamless without the excellent arrangements by the Snow Monkey Resort team. While the weather happened to be rather nasty, snow monkey resorts with Jens were both welcoming and warm :) We have visited matsumoto and Kiso Valley. Going with SMR allowed us to rest a bit on our longer journey - we departed on a comfortable bus from our hotel and was brought to the same place afterwards. We enjoyed the trip and all the valuable info we got. Our kids were happy as well.

Came with my family. Endo (I hope I spelled this correctly) was good. He even took as to a secret viewing spot to see Matsumoto castle from the top. The pace of the tour was great too. We enjoyed the tour very much.

Great one-day trip from Nagano to Matsumoto Castle and Narai-juku. The itinerary was well balanced, combining an iconic historical site with a beautifully preserved post town.
