Zie zowel het Adelaarsnest als de ondergrondse bunkers van Berchtesgaden in slechts een halve dag. De reis vanuit Salzburg is ideaal als je niet veel tijd hebt, maar wel de historische bezienswaardigheden wilt zien. Begin uw ochtend met een panoramisch uitzicht over de Alpen vanaf Hitler's historische berghut, bekend als het Arendsnest. Aflopend van de Obersalzberg op weg naar de stad Berchtesgaden ziet u ook waar de ondergrondse bunkercomplexen onder de berg lagen en het terrein waar Adolf Hitler zijn woning had, de Berghof. Na het bezoek aan het terrein van de Berghof gaat u verder naar het prachtige Beierse bergstadje Berchtesgaden, gelegen in de vallei van de Kings Lake-rivier. Op de terugweg terug naar Salzburg reist u langs Kings Lake kreek terug naar uw hotel of een andere bestemming in Salzburg.

We verlaten de stad Salzburg en rijden naar het zuiden naar de Duitse grens. Uw privégids zal u de geschiedenis van de stad Salzburg uitleggen en hoe, gedurende vele jaren, het een onafhankelijk vorstendom was, geregeerd door de katholieke kerk en het belang van zout en hoe het heeft de groei van de stad beïnvloed. Andere interessante plaatsen worden uitgelegd op de route naar de volgende locatie.
Op weg naar het busstation van Obersalzberg hebben we een aantal geweldige fotostops. Uw privégids zal u laten zien waar alles zich bevond tussen 1933 en 1945. Plaatsen zoals het Berghof-terrein, toegang tot de bunkers, SS-kazerne en nog veel meer. Nadat je een mentaal beeld en een ruimtelijke oriëntatie van de berg hebt gekregen, zal een schaalmodel op het busstation je helpen begrijpen waar alles zich bevond.
Bezoek het Eagle Nest met je privégids. Vanaf het Eagle's Nest busstation. Je gaat aan boord van een speciaal uitgeruste bergbus voor een adembenemende rit over de weg van 4 mijl, met zijn 27% helling naar een rotsachtig plateau. Vandaar zullen we door een 124 meter lange tunnel lopen, die ons rechtstreeks naar de originele WO II-koperen lift brengt die je door het hart van de Kehlsteinberg naar nog eens 406 voet omhoog brengt, rechtstreeks naar het Adelaarsnest zelf. Na een rondleiding door het Adelaarsnest heb je wat vrije tijd om van het uitzicht te genieten of drankjes te drinken.
Aflopend van Obersalzberg gaan we verder naar het prachtige Beierse bergstadje Berchtesgaden, gelegen in de vallei van de Koenigssee. Je hebt de tijd om Berchtesgaden op eigen gelegenheid te verkennen voordat je terugkeert naar Salzburg

This half day tour to Eagle's Nest was very informative and interesting. Our guide, Michael, did a great job explaining everything and made the experience entertaining. Even our teenage son was paying attention :) I would highly recommend this private tour.
Luciano was a lovely and very knowledgeable guide for this tour. Some recent health issues have meant that I’m slower and struggle over distances but he was patient and made accommodations where he could to ensure our experience was as inclusive as it could be. Comfortable shoes are a must as is sunscreen for when you get to the summit to enjoy that rare air.

We were on a tour with a private tour company. We drove halfway up the mountain where we parked the bus and got onto special electric buses which took us to the top of the mountain. Once there we walked in a tunnel to an elaborately decorated elevator that took us up to the Eagle’s Nest, which was built in 1938. We walked though what is today a restaurant but was once the retreat of Adolf Hitler. The rain finally stopped, and we got a great view of the valley below. You could walk around the facility and have a bite to eat if you wish. Eagle’s Nest or Kehlsteinhaus sits at an elevation of 1834 meters. We were advised there were 2000 visitors today, probably less than usual because of the rain. We were next to the last bus down off the mountain at 1700.
Amazing architecture and construction. The views are unbelievable. Carlos did a great job navigating the crowds and keeping our wait times low, especially with my dad who is older and has troubles walking. He is very knowledgeable and told us the real story of what happened vs Hollywood. We even got to do some extra stuff that wasn’t included. He knew which things to do when, how long they would take, the best path to walk.

Pick up and drop-off at our hotel and pre-trip communication was seamless. Very comfortable ride (there were 6 of us) and our guide had lots of interesting information about eagle's nest but also more general info about the region. We had sufficient time to do the exploring and visiting we wanted to do and our guide was particularly helpful in getting us and out of the bus (you can't drive the last portion of the road) in order to minimize wait times. I wish we had had more time for the museum at the end but all in all, it was an educational experience and the trip was smooth and easy.
