We gaan terug naar de 3e eeuw voor Christus en nemen je mee naar een Romeinse schat verborgen op het betoverende Marokkaanse platteland. Ontdek tijdens onze dagtrip naar Meknes Volubilis de indrukwekkende Romeinse architectuur en oude Marokkaanse geschiedenis. Onze tour begint door u op te halen bij uw hotel in Fez, en rijdt vervolgens in een volledig uitgeruste auto onze eerste stop Volubilis. Kom langs een prachtig uitzicht op het Rifgebergte en de spectaculaire Chahed waterdam. Leer meer over de Romeinse geschiedenis, de oude cultuur en de majestueuze architectuur terwijl je de prachtige ruïnes van de Boog van Caracalla, de Basiliek en de Capitolijnse Tempel ontdekt. Vervolg uw weg naar Moulay Idriss Zerhoun, een klein stadje met een enorme waarde in het hart van elke Marokkaan. Het kleine dorpje werd gebouwd door Idriss I, de eerste die de islam naar Marokko bracht. Lunchen in Meknes .U wordt begeleid door de meest indrukwekkende 17e-eeuwse Gate Bab Mansour en El Heri es-Souani structuur gebruikt als granarie. Fijne terugweg naar Fes.

Volubilis is het overblijfsel van een Romeinse stad gebouwd op de voormalige plaats van een Punisch-Berberse stad, de hoofdstad van het koninkrijk Mauretanië, gelegen in de Saïss-vlakte, in het noorden van Marokko, aan de oevers van de wadi Rhoumane, een rivier in de buitenwijken van Meknes. Het is een van de UNESCO-werelderfgoedlocaties.
Moulay Driss Zerhoun Het staat bekend als de locatie van het graf van Idris I, de eerste grote islamitische heerser van Marokko, naar wie de stad is vernoemd.
Meknes is een stad in het noorden van Marokko. Het staat bekend om zijn keizerlijke verleden, met overblijfselen zoals Bab Mansour, een enorme poort met bogen en mozaïeken. De poort leidt naar de oude keizerlijke stad. Het mausoleum van sultan Moulay Ismail, die de stad in de 17e eeuw tot hoofdstad maakte, heeft binnenplaatsen en fonteinen.

We had a fantastic trip to Volubilis, Moulay Idriss and Meknes with our guide, Imad. He was extremely friendly, knowledgeable and helpful throughout the day. Imad was very considerate and accommodating, making sure we were comfortable and happy with the pace of the trip. He was happy to answer all our questions and gave us a great insight into the history and culture of each place we visited. We particularly appreciated how welcoming and attentive he was, and he made the whole experience relaxed, enjoyable and informative. We would highly recommend Imad to anyone visiting the area!

This day trip added so much to our visit to Fez. The van was comfortable and the driver very professional. We loved seeing the ruins and getting a broader sense of Moroccan history.
Mohammed was very kind. Took me to a few extra spots that weren’t on the itenary. Also got to learn a lot about Fez, Moulay Idriss , Meknes and Volubilis. No rush and had enough time to explore and take pictures. Will definitely be back again soon.
Mohammed was an excellent driver and general tour guide. First of all, his vehicle was new and very comfortable. His commentary while on the road went well beyond the specifics of the tour; rather he had a running dialogue on things related to Morocco, the region around Fez and Meknes, etc. He was always looking out for comfort. When there was a need for more in-depth knowledge (I.e., Volubilis), he worked to find us the best certified guide. Besides all that. he likes the Blues and has an excellent playlist. He even made a stop for us on the way back for our personal needs. I would make one suggestion for Mohammed — he speaks softly and for those who are a bit hard of hearing can be hard to understand. When I asked him to speak up, he always did. We had an enjoyable day with Mohammed and would definitely use him again.
Great experience with Mohamed during a day trip to Volubilis, Moulay Idriss and Meknes. Mohamed is very knowledgeable and extremely kind. We will certainly use his services for a desert trip next time.
Mohamed's love of Morocco and desire to give his guests the best experience possible was extraordinary! He anticipated our every need from wet wipes for our hands to coins to use the bathroom. He catered to our particular interests (even treating us to pomegranates and coffee and also stopping at a supermarket) and we learned so much about Moroccan history and culture. We only had a day with him but it was one we will never forget. Highly recommended!
