De Grote Piramide van Gizeh is de oudste en grootste van de drie piramides in het piramidecomplex van Gizeh, grenzend aan het huidige Gizeh in Groot-Caïro, Egypte. Het is de oudste van de zeven wereldwonderen en de enige die grotendeels intact is gebleven. De oorspronkelijke ingang van de Grote Piramide bevindt zich in het noorden, 17 meter (56 voet) verticaal boven het grondniveau en 7,29 meter (23,9 voet) ten oosten van de middellijn van de piramide. Vanaf deze oorspronkelijke ingang is er een aflopende doorgang van 0,96 meter (3,1 ft.) hoog en 1,04 meter (3,4 ft.) breed, die onder een hoek van 26° 31'23" naar beneden gaat door het metselwerk van de piramide en vervolgens in het gesteente eronder. Na 105,23 meter (345,2 ft.), wordt de doorgang waterpas en loopt nog eens 8,84 meter (29,0 ft.) naar de lagere kamer, die niet voltooid lijkt te zijn. Er is een voortzetting van de horizontale doorgang in de zuidmuur van de onderste kamer; er is ook een kuil gegraven in de vloer van de kamer
Dan zal verhuizen om de Koptisch-orthodoxe kerk van de Heilige Maagd Maria te bezoeken, ook bekend als de hangende kerk, een van de oudste kerken in Egypte, en de geschiedenis van een kerk op deze site dateert uit de derde eeuw. Het behoort tot de Koptisch-Orthodoxe Kerk van Alexandrië. Hangende kerk is genoemd naar de locatie boven een poortgebouw van Babylon Fortress, het Romeinse fort in Koptisch Caïro.
Een dagtour met een bezoek aan de piramides van Gizeh, waar je de Grote Piramides - Cheops, Chephren en Mykerinos bezoekt en vervolgens de Vallei-tempel bezoekt waar de priesters het dode lichaam van koning Chephren hebben gemummificeerd Ook daar zul je de sfinx van dichtbij bekijken - de legendarische voogd die bij het enorme begrafeniscomplex staat met zijn leeuwenlichaam en het hoofd van koning Chephren. Koptisch-orthodoxe kerk van St. Barbara is een van de vele beroemde Koptisch-orthodoxe parochies die te vinden zijn in het district Koptisch Caïro. Het gebouw bevindt zich in het oostelijke deel van het Babylon-fort en is een van de oudste gebouwen in Caïro
Blijf de Ben Ezra-synagoge bezoeken, ook wel de El-Geniza-synagoge of de synagoge van de Levantijnen genoemd, die zich in het Fustat-deel van het oude Caïro, Egypte bevindt. Volgens de lokale folklore bevindt het zich op de plaats waar de baby Mozes werd gevonden. Ben Ezra als instelling is oud en heeft in zijn geschiedenis ten minste drie gebouwen bewoond
bezoek de belangrijke kerk Simon de Tanner (fl. 10e eeuw), ook bekend als Sint Simon de Schoenmaker (Sam'ān al-Kharrāz) is de Koptisch-orthodoxe heilige die wordt geassocieerd met het verhaal van het verplaatsen van de Mokattam-berg in Caïro, tijdens het bewind van de islamitische Fatimiden-kalief al-Muizz Lideenillah (953-975) terwijl Abraham de Syriër de paus was van de Koptisch-orthodoxe kerk van Alexandrië. Simon de Leerlooier leefde tegen het einde van de tiende eeuw en veel Koptische christenen in Egypte, die zich ook bezighielden met handwerk. Saint Simon werkte in de leerlooierij, een ambacht dat daar tot op de dag van vandaag bekend is. Dit beroep omvatte andere ambachten die afhankelijk waren van het proces, vanaf het moment dat Simon verschillende titels droeg die verband hielden met huiden: Tanner, Cobbler en Shoemaker.

Very bad experience with this agency. We had booked a 3 day trip to Cairo and it was extremely disappointing from start to finish. The first two days we had a very old guide, obviously tired, who gave us almost no explanation. On several occasions, we found ourselves visiting alone, without any accompaniment or information, which is unacceptable for a guided service. On the third day, it was even worse: we had to visit the Museum of Civilization entirely alone, with no guide, no explanation, nothing. Suffice to say that we could have organised this ourselves without paying an agency. Non-existent organization, total lack of professionalism, and clearly not up to the price paid. I absolutely do not recommend this agency.
Je respecte votre avis, mais je souhaite clarifier certains points : Expertise : Vous aviez un guide francophone expérimenté et professionnel, malgré une météo difficile et la pluie. Flexibilité : Dès le troisième jour, j'ai accédé à votre demande en remplaçant le guide par un intervenant plus jeune. Adaptation : Le NMEC n'était pas prévu initialement. Nous avons remplacé le Vieux-Caire par ce musée, avec un guide francophone, pour vous satisfaire. Service : Notre équipe a été ponctuelle, souriante et flexible, vous accordant plus de temps sur les sites.

VERY INTERESTING ENCOUNTER WITH CAIRO AND GIZA. A VIBRANT FULL OF LIFE CITY. OUR GUIDE WAS NASSER, A TOTAL GENTLEMAN WITH EXCELLENT KNOWLEDGE ABOUT THE HISTORY OF EGYPT. IT WAS DEFINITELY A PLEASURE HAVING HIM AROUND AND I RECOMMENDED TO ANYONE. CAIRO IS MIND BLOWING AND FILLED WITH CONTRASTS. THE BIGGEST SHOCK IN ADMIRATION WAS THE WAY THEY DRIVE. IT'S SOMEHOW A WELL COORDONTATED CHAOS THAT, INCREDIBLY, WORKS. THEIR RELATIONSHIP WITH AMIMALS IS AMAZING. FROM CAMELS, HORSES, CATS AND DOGS, EVERYTHING IS PURE HARMONY. OUR ACCOMMODATION WAS AT THE HAYAT HOTEL. A HOTEL WITH AMAZING VIEW, VERY TASTY FOOD AND FRIENDLY STAFF BUT WITH SOME TEHNOLOGICAL ISSUES. THE WI-FI IS KIND OF LIKE A SNEAKY NINJA. APEAR AND DISAPPEAR IN THE HOTEL AND NOT EVER IN OUR ROOM. TV ALSO AND THE AIR CONDITIONING REFUSES TO WORK FROM MORE THAN TIME TO TIME. TIPPING IS A PART OF THE GAME AND CAN BE OVERWHELMING. ANYWAY, ALL IN ONE, WAS AN AMAZING EXPERIENCE AND LIKE I WROTE AT THE BEGINNING, A GOOD GUIDE IS VERY IMPORTANT AND BECAUSE OF THAT I WILL SEND TROUGH HERE A BIG SHUKRA TO NASSER.

We booked a private one day trip through TripAdvisor. The experience exceeded pur expectation, the awesome giza pyramids and coptic cairo takes you back in time. Would also like to thank Mr Naseer who is very knowledgeable and a gem of a person. He patiently explained the history of the places and went out of the way to make us feel comfortable. Mr Hasan (driver) too was very accommodating .

We had a fantastic day out in Giza and Cairo with Mohamed the driver and Naser the tourist guide. They have been super friendly and helpful. A must if you want the get the most out of your Egypt holiday. Mohamed the driver is very good and safe. Naser the guide is very knowledgeable about all sites we visited and helped us out a lot keeping away scammers and to pay the right price for everything we bought. They took us to the best shawarma place in Cairo. ( best shawarma of my life) I definitely recommend this guys to have a fantastic time in Giza and Cairo hustle free

This tour was beyond amazing. Nasser and the driver(forgot his name) arrived at our hotel on time. Visiting the pyramids and sphinx was surreal. Nasser is a great photographer and took amazing personal photos of us at the pyramids. We wanted to dine at the 9 pyramids lounge and he graciously waited in the car for 1 hour as my partner and I ate breakfast and took pictures. He personally walked us up to the lounge and asked a waitress to attend to our needs urgently. We extended an invitation for him to join us but he politely declined. The rest of the day ran smoothy as planned. We customized our itinerary by skipping the perfume /art shop all together. Coptic Cairo was amazing too. Before dropping us off at our hotel, he took us to a local shop per our request so we could purchase snacks, water, and juice for our hotel. We appreciated his great hospitality and care toward us. The least we could do is leave a good tip. +5 stars tour.

The guide Nasser, took me to some local traders where I paid a much higher prices for my goods than I should I have, basically saying these are trusted vendors. Essential oils place charged me 100 usd for 250 mls of essential oils, should cost around 10 to 15 usd. Papyrus institute, charged me 170 usd for 2 painting on Papyrus should cost around 20 to 40 usd. Unfortunately the guides and shops are all in cahoots... which is sad by true. Im writing this so that others don't get scammed by same people in future. And hopefully the guides stop scamming tourists.

Mr. Nasser Turk is an amazing guide and our trip was truly fantastic. It was a remarkable journey in time and space that Nasser took us through. He is very kind, patient and welcoming. My husband and I are both passionate about history and Nasser's excellent knowledge of Egypt history and culture was literally enlightening (he is literally a walking history book) and his English is perfect. It was not the first time I had visited Egypt but doing it with the right guide truly changes everything. His driver Islam also made the trip worthwhile. He can also be a successful photographer ( it’s a plus), no such words can describe his kindnesses , God bless you Nasser! You deserve all the best, many thanks for a remarkable trip.
