Tijdens de North Stradbroke Island Tour kunnen migrerende walvissen worden gespot van juni tot oktober, samen met dolfijnen en schildpadden het hele jaar door. Het eiland heeft een spectaculair uitzicht op de oceaan en heeft een rijke geschiedenis. Op weg naar Point Lookout stoppen we bij Myora Springs, een kleine kreek die leidt naar de omliggende mangroven. In de middag bezoeken we Amity Point voor een zachte wandeling onder het tandvlees van de kust, waarbij we uitkijken naar koala's die hoog in het bladerdak rusten. Dit rustige kustgebied biedt een lager tempo en een kans om te genieten van de rustige sfeer van het eiland. Ons laatste natuurlijke hoogtepunt is Brown Lake, een zoetwatermeer dat van nature gekleurd is door tea tree tannines, waardoor het water zijn kenmerkende bruine kleur krijgt. Omgeven door inheemse bushland en delicate wilde bloemen, is het een ideale plek om te genieten van afternoon tea of een verfrissende duik te nemen voordat we onze reis terug naar het vasteland beginnen. U verlaat dit prachtige tropische eiland met vele prachtige herinneringen.

We stappen aan boord van de veerboot voor de schilderachtige 45 minuten durende oversteek van Moreton Bay. Terwijl het vasteland achter ons vervaagt, kunt u genieten van uitgestrekte uitzichten op de oceaan en de kans om zeevogels en zeeleven te observeren terwijl u leert over de plaats van het eiland binnen dit belangrijke mariene ecosysteem.
“Kaapembah” Myora Springs is een prachtige plek en bron van zoet water voor de natuur van het Dunwich-gebied, op slechts een paar kilometer buiten Dunwich op de weg naar Amity Point en Point Lookout. Myora Springs, of Moongalba (zitplaats) heeft een zuiver zoetwaterbron die vandaag de dag loopt, net als duizenden jaren. In het bos rondom de Myora Springs is een overvloed aan zoetwaterkreeften, garnalen, bungwalvaren en ander plantaardig voedsel en het is dus geen verrassing om te horen dat dit een favoriete kampeerplaats was van de Aboriginals. De oevers zijn voorzien van delen van grote middens, die onder andere kokkel-, oester- en wulkschelpen bevatten.
De Gorge Walk bij Point Lookout is een must voor alle bezoekers van het eiland. Deze rustige wandeling biedt een prachtig uitzicht over de oceaan en is een ideaal uitkijkpunt voor het spotten van zeeleven zoals schildpadden, dolfijnen en mantaroggen. Van juni tot november kunnen bezoekers genieten van het kijken naar bultruggen die dicht bij de kustlijn passeren tijdens hun jaarlijkse migratie. De Gorge Walk biedt ook een prachtig uitzicht langs het prachtige Main Beach naar Jumpinpin, de zuidpunt van het eiland.
Er zijn volop mogelijkheden om te kiezen voor een heerlijke lunch in Point Lookout. En er zijn twee geweldige ijssalons om uit te kiezen.
Na de lunch bezoeken we een van de prachtige stranden rond Amity Point. We bezoeken Amity Point voor een zachte wandeling onder het tandvlees van de kust, waarbij we uitkijken naar koala's die hoog in het bladerdak rusten. Dit rustige kustgebied biedt een lager tempo en een kans om te genieten van de rustige sfeer van het eiland.
Een natuurlijk hooggelegen meer, puur regenwater dat bruin getint is door de inheemse theebomen, Brown Lake of Lake Bummiera, is een verborgen schat. Populaire zwemplek en picknickplek. De kalme rust van het meer is betoverend, vooral als je het in de vroege ochtend of late namiddag bezoekt. In het voorjaar stippelen wilde bloemen het omliggende bushland uit. Lake Bummiera heeft een speciale betekenis voor de lokale Aboriginals, en als je het op een rustig moment van de dag bezoekt, voel je de magie.
Afhankelijk van de openingsdagen is er ook een mogelijkheid om het Quandamooka Art and Culture Centre of een lokaal museum te bezoeken, dat dieper inzicht biedt in het rijke culturele erfgoed van het eiland.

At North Gorge Walk, jumping family of humpback whales were really amazing. At Amity, wild koalas on the swaying eucalyptus tree in strong wind were not just lovable but admirable. They were totally different from zoo or aquarium. Anita was very friendly and her guide made us more interested in the wildlife and natural environment in North Stradbroke Island Brisbane. I had been to Moreton Island before and enjoyed the Australian islands, so I signed up for this tour because I wanted to visit a different island. I was wondering what a private tour would be like, but it turned out to be an amazing experience, even better than I had imagined! First, our tour guide, Anita, picked us up at our hotel in the morning and drove politely with us throughout. I was so busy right up until the last minute that I didn't have enough time to research the island trip, but I didn't need to worry, Anita took us to many wonderful places! The view from the North Gorge Walk was especially spectacular and beautiful and seemed to make me forget about time! We were lucky enough to see a school of whales, a school of dolphins, and a turtle swimming gracefully. We enjoyed talking with Anita during our trip and had a relaxing lunch break. We also encountered koalas and kangaroos in the wild, making this a truly Australian trip! The most impressive part of the trip was Brown Lake. The leaves of tea trees and other plants change the color of the water in a fantastic way, and I was impressed by this beautiful sight that cannot be seen anywhere else. I decided that I wanted to spend more time on this island and would definitely revisit it again with my husband!! Anita told us many stories all the way back to the hotel after getting off the ferry. We had an exciting day exploring the island, looking for koalas together and discovering iguanas amidst the beautiful sights. I highly recommend this tour, especially for couples who want to enjoy a relaxing and private trip, or for those who want to enjoy Australia's natural beauty by leaving the entire tour to an experienced guide! Anita on this tour is a wonderful Guide. He explained it to us in an easy-to-understand and slow way because we only speak English. This is your very own private tour! It was closer than a tour of Morton Island, and the price was convincing. I went there in August in winter and was impressed by the nature on North Stradbrogue Island. Anita will guide you to see lots of koalas and kangaroos in the wild! There's no tour from the Gold Coast, so it's a pity we only go from Brisbane, but this tour will pick us up at our hotel. It's worth taking part in!

The walk along the reefs and North Gorg was really amazing with superb views and the opportunity to spot some marine Wilde life, in spite of the weather and high waves. Also very único was the visit to the Browne Lake. Anita was a very kind and excellent guide, always looking to attend our needs

Had an amazing day full of little surprises from seeing a sea turtle to tiny baby frog's at Brown Lake. Anita is a very knowledgeable guide full of interesting and little known facts.

We had a truly amazing day with Brisbane Nature Tours. Anita picked us up from our hotel and drove us to the ferry -- scenic ride over to North Stradbroke Island. Highlight was the North Gorge walk, with spectacular views of the ocean and the gorge. We saw manta rays, turtles, dolphins, and some interesting birds. Another great stop was at Brown Lake -- it should really be called Rainbow Lake because of the beautiful coloration of the water due to tannins from the tea trees around it. We also saw a koala, some kangaroos, and a monitor lizard at various points in the day and we stopped for a delicious lunch. Because this is a private tour, Anita gave us a a few choices about lunch location and which stops to spend more time at. Her vehicle is clean and very comfortable and Anita was a knowledgeable guide. Can't say enough good things about this tour. (See also pictures posted with this review.)

Anita is an excellent guide and a very pleasant company. She took care of us the whole day, guiding us through beautiful landscapes and dynamic ecosystems where the iconic Australian fauna is there to be observed and photographed 😊: Kangaroo, Koala, birds like the Osprey just to mention one, iguanas, abundant sea life we could see enjoying the transparent waters in the coastline, turtles, dolphins, rays…. This was an excellent trip from pick-up to drop-off, Anita was cheerful, knowledgeable and interesting. North Stradbroke Island provided so many opportunities to see varied landscapes, walk and enjoy the views that it was great to be able to do it at our pace on the private tour.

I could not believe that this was a private tour with just Anita. When she picked us up from our hotel I thought we were going to meet a bus with a larger group. But no, it was just the three of us. We had such a wonderful experience, kangaroos, whales, turtles, eagles and birds just to mention some of what we saw. All in all, we had such a wonderful day and Anita even drops us in the Brisbane CBD so we could have a few collies and a nice meal in the city. Do your self a favour and use Anita for only two or three people, she makes four, how private is that. Highly recommend 👍
