Een prachtige rit vanuit Londen naar het westen en de kans om drie totaal verschillende tijdperken van de lange geschiedenis van Groot-Brittannië te ervaren, van de dandy's van het slimme 18e-eeuwse Bath, terug via de beschavingscultuur van de Romeinen tot de verre en mysterieuze neolithische volkeren met hun verbazingwekkende hemeltempel van zware steen. We kunnen ook toeren door enkele van de mooiste landschappen van Engeland in een comfortabele Mercedes.

Bezoek het prachtige Bath in al zijn Regency-pracht. Zeer geliefd bij de dandy's en de slimme set, de thuisbasis van een majestueuze abdij, een vooraanstaande universiteit en natuurlijk de beroemde Romeinse hete baden. Bij aankomst maken we een snelle panoramische rit, waarbij we zeker de Royal Crescent en Circus, twee van Bath's architecturale juweeltjes, en enkele van de meest gewilde eigendommen in het land zullen omvatten. We parkeren dan centraal en wandelen door de historische abdij, grotendeels gespaard door de reformatie van Henry Vlll, voordat we de Romeinse baden gaan verkennen, die verrassend intact zijn en de locatie van een van de beste musea van Engeland. Hier werd de cultus van de godin, Sulis Minerva, gehouden gedurende meer dan 400 jaar Romeins-Britse geschiedenis. Stoll (misschien stoppen voor de lunch onderweg) door de mooie straten tot aan het Beau Nash House, koning van Bath en dandy in chief, hij was een verstokte rokkenjager, gokker en trendsetter.
Bezoek misschien wel de oudste en meest mysterieuze plek in Engeland. Een tempel, hemelse kalender en heilige begraafplaats in één. Ooit verondersteld door Merlijn uit het westen te zijn getoverd, maar nu door de moderne wetenschap onthuld dat het door de neolithische mens van zijn oorspronkelijke locatie in Wales is vervoerd, zo'n 150 mijl door pure vastberadenheid en spierkracht. Ontdek het leven zoals het was voor enkele van onze vroegst te ontdekken voorouders, mensen zoals jij en ik, die de wijsheid van de eeuwen hebben vastgelegd met hun grondige kennis van de zon, de sterren en de seizoenen. Bezoek hun eenvoudige huizen en bekijk de gereedschappen waarmee ze hun wereld hebben gemaakt. Put je kracht opnieuw uit de machtige Sarsen-stenen en kijk hoeveel van jullie er nodig zijn om er een te verplaatsen. Kijk over een landschap dat onveranderd is gebleven sinds de stenen daar vier en een half millennia geleden voor het eerst werden geplaatst.

The tours and ride were second to none. The vehicle was very clean and comfortable! The tours were fun and highly informative with my tour guide’s explanations! Chris picked out a delicious location for lunch too! Wouldn’t hesitate to book again and again!

Took the Evan Evans tour from London to Stonehenge and Bath. It was lovely. Our guide Peter and driver Rad were amazing - friendly, knowledgeable, and professional. Mark was a fabulous guide! Witty and wicked fun sense of humor. He is So well versed in everything Stonehenge - he was better than any audio guide. Our experience in Bath was perfectly lovely as well. He found a nice Italian place for us to dine prior to the Abbey. And he was happy to take a few detours for us so we can take in as much as we could in one day! Next time I am in London, we will call him specifically for a different tour!
Very glad to share my enthusiasm for the mysteries of the ancient stones. I probably get a bit over excited about things like massive holes in the ground that aren't even there any more! Yes its lovely at The Square in the square. You get a view of the Abbey, the pump room and, if you're lucky, some great live music from one of the buskers. We even had a laugh trying to escape Bath in the rush hour. Do you remember the scooter girl!?
We had an amazing time touring Windsor Castle, Stonehenge, and Bath. Mark arrived on-time and added historical insights for each location. Our trip included an excellent picnic lunch provided by his wife Diane. It could only have been better without the rain. The next time I travel back to London I will plan another tour with Mark.
Oh you guys were utter stalwarts on the day, especially your Mum. Thank goodness the owner of the cafe there took pity on us and let us eat our picnic in there. I remember the other diners looking up from their mere sandwiches agog, while I handed out the mini champagne and quails eggs. Thanks to your true brit style stiff upper lips we still managed to make a great day of it :)

Fantastic tour with a sparkling guide, Marc was very knowledgeable and kind, he showed us the most interesting spots and told us a lot of interesting facts and anecdotes. I highly recommend him!
What a fantastic day visiting Windsor Castle and Stonehenge. Mark is a great tour guide, extremely knowledgeable and friendly. He is also a courteous driver and his car is extremely comfortable. I will definitely connect with him again on our next visit to London…and suggest you should also.
Mark took us on an excellent tour of Stonehenge and Bath. He's a courteous and careful driver, in a super comfortable Mercedes. He even checked in with us the day before to make sure we were all prepared. He guided us through the museum at Stonehenge, explaining the history and highlights. After a little lunch at the cafe there, we visited the outdoor exhibit and then we took as much time as we wanted stroll around Stonehenge, grabbing all the photos we needed. After a short drive through the lovely countryside, we visited Bath. First a drive around the city and then we parked and visited the Bath Abbey where we able to listen to the choir prepare for the evensong. Afterwards, we had a nice dinner at a nearby cafe. It was a pleasure meeting Mark and having him guide us through these amazing sites. We highly recommend this private tour.
