Begin uw dag met een vroege pick-up bij uw hotel, tussen 05:00 en 06:00 uur.Uw avontuur begint met een schilderachtige rit door de prachtige Heilige Vallei, waar de schilderachtige landschappen van de Andes u omringen. Terwijl u richting Ollantaytambo rijdt, passeert u charmante dorpjes en weelderige valleien, wat de toon zet voor de ongelooflijke reis die voor u ligt. Bij aankomst in Ollantaytambo stap je aan boord van een comfortabele en schilderachtige treinrit naar Aguas Calientes. De treinreis is een hoogtepunt op zich en biedt een adembenemend uitzicht op de dramatische bergen, diepe valleien en de ruisende Urubamba-rivier beneden. Het is de perfecte gelegenheid om te ontspannen, het landschap in je op te nemen en je voor te bereiden op de wonderen die je te wachten staan.
Eenmaal in Aguas Calientes maak je een korte busrit naar de legendarische Machu Picchu. Deze oude Inca citadel, hoog in de Andes en gehuld in mist, is een van de Nieuwe Zeven Wereldwonderen. Als je deze buitengewone archeologische site betreedt, word je onmiddellijk ondergedompeld in de mystieke sfeer en ontzagwekkende schoonheid. Tijdens uw rondleiding bezoekt u enkele van de meest iconische en belangrijke locaties in Machu Picchu: Huis van de Wachter, Intihuatana, Tempel van de Zon, en Heilige Plaza. In de namiddag stap je op de trein terug naar Poroy, waar een privévoertuig klaarstaat om je terug te brengen naar je hotel in Cusco. De schilderachtige treinrit biedt meer prachtige uitzichten op de Heilige Vallei, en je komt rond 19:00 uur aan in Cusco, ter afsluiting van een onvergetelijke dag vol geschiedenis, cultuur en de natuurlijke schoonheid van Peru.

The experience was wonderful but I think it was super special because our guide Eduardo, is lovely. He is organised, a wealth of knowledge about anything Peru and kept us laughing with his corny jokes. (Sorry Eduardo!). We all loved him and was sad to leave him behind.

What an experience to experience Machu Picchu! A strike occurred when we were supposed to originally go to Machu Picchu and Tamara at Valencia was able to get us rescheduled to go in our timeframe. The night before the tour, Wilbert came to the hotel and gave us a briefing of what to expect the next day! Our day started early (5am pick up time) and we made our way via car, train and bus to Machu Picchu. I was traveling with my mom and Wilbert went out of his way to help her with her back and with the stairs around Machu Picchu as my mom suffers from vertigo. Wilbert was an AMAZING tour guide!!! He was hilarious and very welcoming. I swear he knew everyone in Aquas Calientes and Machu Picchu. He knew so much about Machu Picchu as well! He even spent 2 years working on an excavation team there! So talk about some inside scoop! He ate lunch with us after our tour and then accompanied us back via bus, train and car again back to our hotel! I know we have a lifelong friend with Wilbert! If you are going to Machu Picchu, please request him!!!
