Het Jemaa el-Fna-plein, gelegen in de oude medina van Marrakech en erkend door de Unesco, is een van de belangrijkste culturele ruimtes in Marrakech en is sinds de oprichting in de elfde eeuw een van de symbolen van de stad geworden.De hele dag door , en tot diep in de nacht wordt een verscheidenheid aan diensten aangeboden, zoals tandheelkundige zorg, traditionele geneeskunde, waarzeggerij, prediking en henna-tatoeage; watervoerend, fruit en traditionele gerechten kunnen worden gekocht. Daarnaast kan men genieten van vele optredens van verhalenvertellers, dichters, slangenbezweerders, Berbermuzikanten (mazighen), Gnaoua-dansers en senthir (hajouj) spelers.
De minaret van de Koutoubia-moskee is een klassieke referentie en een belangrijk voorbeeld van de Almohaden-architectuur en van de Marokkaanse moskee-architectuur in het algemeen. De minarettoren, 77 meter hoog, is versierd met verschillende geometrische boogmotieven en bekroond door een spits en metalen bollen.
Bab Agnaou is een monumentale poort die getuigt van het grandioze verleden van de Berberse Almohaden-dynastie die in de 12e eeuw het hart van zijn macht in Marrakech had geïnstalleerd. Geflankeerd door 2 kanonnen, is het een van de meest indrukwekkende poorten in Marrakech.
De locatie werd gekozen vanwege de nabijheid van de belangrijke Kasbah-moskee, die dateert uit de jaren 1100. De vijfde en laatste Saadiaanse heerser was verantwoordelijk voor de bouw van veel van de belangrijkste gebouwen binnen het complex van de Saadische graven. Hij bouwde weelderige mausolea in even weelderige structuren. Materialen waren onder meer geïmporteerd Italiaans marmer en goud, met in het oog springend tegelwerk, bekend als zellige, pleisterwerk en houtwerk. Het gehele complex straalt schoonheid uit.
De Mellah van Marrakech, voorheen bekend als Hay Essalam, is de Joodse wijk van de stad Marrakech, Marokko. Het is de op één na oudste in zijn soort in het land. El Mellah, de Joodse wijk, is altijd een uitwisselingsdistrict geweest. De Joden brachten zout, geld en goud mee; andere landen, producten die Marokkanen niet konden vinden op hun traditionele markten. Tegenwoordig worden Joden in het gebied zelden gevonden, maar dit soort producten worden nog steeds verkocht.
Het Palais Bahia ("de briljante") is ongetwijfeld een van de meest buitengewone keizerlijke overblijfselen van Marokko en stelt niet teleur. Gebouwd aan het begin van de 19e eeuw door architect El Mekki voor Si Moussa, de toenmalige kamerheer van Sultan Hassan I, toont het paleis een breed scala aan architecturale stijlen die verwijzen naar de speelse geest van de kamerheer, vooral nadat zijn zoon het had geërfd en zijn eigen merk van flamboyante glamour naar de plaats.
Souk Semmarine is een zeer kleurrijke winkelstraat waar we voornamelijk handelaren in stoffen, souvenirs, ambachten vinden, maar ook unieke adressen uit de Marokkaanse oudheid. Het vertegenwoordigt de toegang tot de gespecialiseerde soeks: specerijen, tapijten, stoffen, pantoffels ... Een echte Ali Baba-grot.
De medina van Marrakech is een Marokkaanse medina, het historische hart van Marrakech. De districten van de medina kunnen de naam dragen van de aangrenzende deur, een zaouïa, een mausoleum, een moskee, een paleis of een begraafplaats die zich daar bevindt, een verkeersas of een traditionele naam. De medina van Marrakech herbergt ook de soeks van Marrakech.
De oorsprong van het complex gaat terug tot de Saadi-dynastie, meer dan vierhonderd jaar geleden. Herbouwd in het midden van de negentiende eeuw in opdracht van een invloedrijke kaid van het Atlasgebergte, is Le Jardin Secret de thuisbasis geweest van enkele van de belangrijkste politieke figuren van Marokko en Marrakech.

Dear Tania, As explained in our WhatsApp conversations, and for full transparency, we would like to clarify from the outset that this issue was not caused by our team, but by incorrect information provided by Viator’s booking/support side before the tour. Your review suggests that we tried to “overcharge” you or “scam” you. This is simply not true. Our product clearly states the meeting point at Café de France. Your requested location, Pestana CR7, is outside the standard pickup area for this walking tour and is approximately 47 minutes walking distance from the meeting point. Standard booking therefore did not include pickup from that location. The additional amount discussed was not for a taxi. If you had wished, you were entirely free to take a normal taxi yourself to the meeting point. The extra charge was for a private chauffeur service in a Mercedes luxury van, arranged specially from your location. This is a legitimate premium transport service, with a driver booked and kept available for the service period. It is therefore a normal business charge for a separate private transport arrangement, not an “overcharge” and certainly not a scam. It is also important to clarify that, in order for the booking to go through, a different hotel/pickup point had to be entered on the platform instead of Pestana CR7, which was the actual location later requested. This mismatch itself shows that the booking did not reflect the true pickup situation from the start. We immediately reported this matter to Viator, and Viator’s own support confirmed to us that this negative review arose because of a miscommunication from one of their booking team members. We also hold screenshots of: your conversation showing that Viator’s side gave you incorrect guidance, our conversation with you explaining the actual situation, and Viator support acknowledging that the issue came from their booking team. Unfortunately, the review system does not allow us to attach those screenshots publicly here. We would also like to note that your booking was made only around 6 hours before the tour start, outside practical planning time for a special private pickup request of this type. Even so, we replied to you first thing in the morning at 8:00 a.m, clarified the situation, and then issued you a full refund once it became clear that the booking had been made based on incorrect information from Viator’s side. For that reason, this review is not a fair reflection of our service, our listing, or our conduct. It is based on a misunderstanding created externally and not on any misleading action from us. We have reported the review and hope it will be removed, because it is not founded on the actual facts of the case. As general advice for future bookings, even when information is given by an external platform agent, it is always best to rely on the supplier’s direct confirmation regarding the true pickup point, meeting point, and any transport inclusions, especially if the platform has been made to reflect a different hotel or location than the real one. We remain committed to transparent communication, legitimate pricing, and fair treatment of all travelers. In this case, we acted in good faith, clarified the misunderstanding, and refunded you in full.
This was more than just a tour – it was a cultural immersion. We visited historic sites, spoke with artisans, and enjoyed Moroccan tea. Moroccomfort really knows how to deliver a memorable experience in Fez.

By far, the least enjoyable tour I had in Morocco. I felt rushed and stressed throughout the tour. It was too expensive for only three hours, and the guide seemed to just want to get rid of me. And rather than being guided back to my lodging as was promised in the description, I was dumped on the main square and left to fend for myself. Really disappointing.
This tour basically provides tourists with everything they need to see in Marrakech. Super kind and knowledgeable guide. Generally, a fantastic authentic experience worth doing while visiting Marrakech. I came home feeling happy and satisfied from having seen and met friendly locals. Shukran bezaf!!

This was an incredible tour of the old city for me and my family. I really appreciated everything that was on offer seeing the main squares and getting to sample some of the delicious foods they have on offer. I wish I could’ve booked my trip for longer because my guide truly became like an uncle for me and my children I must admit this. Nothing but the best quality and professionalism!!!!

Had an amazing time with our tour guide and driver Badar who safely took us to the Merzuga desert (c. 9h drive from Marrakesh)! Although a long drive, it felt short thanks to Badars great tours on the way. We stopped to see local craftsmanship and tea brewing. In the desert we went on ATVs and Camels. I would highly recommend this trip!!!
