Luxor of Waset zoals het werd genoemd in het Oude Egypte of zelfs Thebe tijdens de Griekse tijd is een van de sites die op de Werelderfgoedlijst staan en zou een must moeten zijn om bezocht te worden. Het ligt ongeveer 280 km ten zuidwesten van Hurghada, Rode Zee of ongeveer 4 uur rijden. Zo'n dagtrip privé is de beste optie voor volwassenen of koppels. Het is een rondleiding waarbij de Egyptoloog een bezoek brengt aan het oosten en de westelijke oever, inclusief de lunch.

Je wordt opgehaald door je charmante Egyptische rondreizende vertegenwoordiger van je hotel in Hurghada en rijdt naar Luxor met een luxe voertuig met airconditioning om de beroemde Karnak-tempel te bezoeken, de grootste eredienst die ooit is gebouwd. De oude naam Ipet-isut betekent 'de meest heilige plaats'. De tempel, of, juister, het tempelscomplex, werd meer dan tweeduizend jaar geleden gebouwd door generatie na generatie farao's. Binnen het complex is de grote 'Hypostyle Hall' een ongelooflijk bos van gigantische pijlers. Daarna bezoekt u de Westelijke oever van de rivier de Nijl om de twee kolossale beelden van Amenhotep III (Kolossen van Memnon) te bezoeken, en vervolgens bezoekt u de Vallei der Koningen, waar de prachtige graven werden ontdekt, die graven werden diep uitgehouwen in de woestijnrots, rijkelijk versierd en gevuld met schatten voor het hiernamaals van de farao's, bezoek je 3 graven. Later bezoek je de Hatshepsut-tempel in El Deir El Bahary, deze indrukwekkende tempel gewijd aan de koningin Hatshepsut, de enige vrouwelijke farao die op een aantal terrassen uit de woestijnvlakte oprijst. Dan krijgt u de kans om wat vrije tijd te genieten in Luxor om te winkelen bij de originele papyrusinstituten en parfumpaleizen en vervolgens wordt u teruggebracht naar uw hotel in Hurghada.

Tour operator did not show up. Waited over an hour and a half. No contact from the tour operator. Very disappointing. Been up since 4am.

We had a wonderful trip, and can't thank our guide Said enough. He was very knowledgeable and looked after us very well all day. From start to finish he guided us through the day perfectly. Can't recommend him highly enough! Also a shout out to our wonderful driver Mohammed (I hope I have the spelling correct!) He was with us every step of the way, also very helpful and knowledgeable and was a great help throughout the day.

He was really professional, patient (helping and waiting for us to take pictures everywhere) and a great energy. The guide was excellent as was the driver and I could not fault them. It was an amazing trip. Casper, the guide was excellent. Casper really knew his subject and did not rush at all. DO NOT go into the café place they stop at on route as they are a total rip-off. Because I was paying attention to my boys, I did not initially pick up on the fact that the café charge £30 for four drinks and for bars of chocolate. If it was not for this. I would have happily given them five stars. Apart from the café, I would be more than happy to book with them again.
On our summer holiday to Hurghada, we wanted to see something from Egypt. We chose Luxor to visit as it was less far then Caïro. With this trip you get picked up by a nice, airconditioned vehicle. We had a really amazing driver Achmed who picked us up at the resort at 5:30. He was such a kind person and made sure we had a good trip to Luxor, as he takes real good care of you! It takes 4 hours to get there. As we arrived, our tour guide Saïd was immediately ready to start. He was such a smart smart person and had so much knowledge. He could answer all of our questions and even though it was 43C degrees, he tried to make it as comfortable as possible. In fact, the whole trip was mesmerizing and mindblowing!
We had a great experience and trip to Luxor through this agency. We were picked up in front of our hotel in Hurghada early in the morning and driven to Luxor where we met with our tour guide at the Karnak Temple. We visited a series of historic sites on both sides of the river and also had a nice lunch and a short cruise on the Nile River. Some negatives: - No bottled water provided even though it was supposed to be included in the price. - Driver barely spoke any English. Overall very good value for the money. This package does not include the entrance fees but this is still a cheaper option than some of the other packages out there.
It took 5hrs from Hurghada to Luxor and 4hrs for the ride back. Though the ride was long, going to all the sites was worth it. Plus the tour guide was very knowledgeable and the drivers did their best to get us on time.
