Hoi An, ooit een belangrijke handelsplaats in Zuidoost-Azië in de 16e en 17e eeuw, is in feite een levend museum dat de architectuur van de oude stad herbergt. Enkele opvallende erfgoedgebouwen zijn onder andere Chinese tempels, een Japans ontworpen brug, pagodes, houten winkelhuizen, Frans-koloniale huizen en oude grachten. Hoewel grootschalige handel al lang elders was verhuisd, is Hoi An erin geslaagd zijn charmante wortels te behouden en te herstellen en werd het in december 1999 uitgeroepen tot UNESCO-werelderfgoed. Hoi An staat ook bekend om zijn geweldige eten, leuke winkels, bekwame kleermakers, vriendelijke mensen en een gezellige sfeer - allemaal belangrijke kenmerken die mensen naar dit pittoreske stadje trekken.
Cam Thanh kokosnoot bos toeristisch gebied is ook beroemd als Hoi An kokosnoot tuin, Hoi An Cam Thanh bos of Hoi An Marble Cam Thanh kokosnoot dorp. De toeristische attractie van deze plaats is het rustige natuurlijke landschap van de weelderige groene kokosnoot bossen. Met helder water en riviercruises met rustieke korfboten. Volgens de lokale bevolking bestond Cam Thanh kokosbos ongeveer 200 jaar geleden. In die tijd brachten migranten uit de Zuidwestelijke regio waterkokosnoten mee en plantten ze in dit gebied. Vooral met water- en bodemondersteuning groeien de bomen geleidelijk en ontwikkelen zich tot een groot bos van ongeveer 7 hectare. Zo komt ook de naam Cam Thanh kokosbos daar vandaan (hoewel het kokosbos momenteel een oppervlakte heeft van wel 100 hectare). Tijdens de oorlog was het kokosbos een belangrijke revolutionaire basis die het Vietnamese leger en volk hielp vele heldhaftige veldslagen te winnen. Profiteer vandaag van de natuurlijke schoonheid van het uitgestrekte kokosbos.

Our tour guide Thanh was very knowledgeable about the history and architecture of Hoi An. He was very personable and patient with us two older ladies who walk a little slower. His English was very good and we had many nice conversations with him. The tour was great as we visited sites we would not have noticed on our own. We recommend Thanh and this tour.

Henry is a knowledgeable tour guide and speaks English very well. His tour of Hoi An took us to places we otherwise would not have seen. It is an excellent overview to a beautiful and historic city. I'm not sure if it is his personality or his dry sense of humor, but he comes off as a little less engaging than other tour guides we've had in Vietnam. He certainly knows his stuff, but answers to questions seem very business-like as in "just the facts, ma'am," and less as chatty tour guide.

Guess our guide didn’t feel like it at all, walked around a bit bored and told us about the sights in Hoi An. We had the feeling that we had ruined his Saturday off pretty bad. He was certainly not unkind and really told me something but that was it. The best thing we learned was his tip for restaurant Cargo!

The tour by Henry was fascinating. He gave us a tour of Hoi An ranging from temples and the Japanese Bridge, to the food market and the best coconut coffee in town. His historical knowledge of Vietnam, and most places in general, is amazing. We took breaks when we needed, had a few local snacks and had a great time. He was friendly, informative and I highly recommend you take a tour with him!

Henry took us on an walk around the old Hoi An city. As a local he shared many stories about his family and life growing up in the city. It was hot and Henry was happy for us to set the pace, take a rest and stop to take photos. Would recommend this walking tour to anyone who is interested in the history of Hoi An from a locals perspective.

I’m a tour guide and come to Hoian with groups. I booked Henry twice- for a bicycle tour and also for the Hoi An city tour. This is a very nice, professional and excellent English speaking guide.
