Voor groepsgroottes van maximaal 4, 8 of 15 passagiers, biedt deze privédagtrip vanuit York, alleen voor uw feest, de mogelijkheid om het prachtige landschap van het Yorkshire Dales National Park te verkennen, een bezoek te brengen aan Bolton Castle, Askrigg, Kettlewell, Pateley Bridge en de traditionele Dales-marktstad Hawes, waar u de prijswinnende Wensleydale Creamery, de thuisbasis van Yorkshire Wensleydale Cheese, kunt bezoeken!

We komen aan bij Wensleydale's beroemdste bezienswaardigheid, het 14e-eeuwse Bolton Castle waarin ooit Mary Queen of Scots was gehuisvest, waar je de gelegenheid hebt om te genieten en het prachtige uitzicht over Wensleydale te fotograferen, leer een beetje over de geschiedenis van het gebied vanuit je gids, of neem gewoon een ontspannen Yorkshire Brew in de Tea Room van het middeleeuwse kasteel - de keuze is aan u!
Vervolgens nemen we de schilderachtige route richting Hawes, die door Askrigg, het fictieve dorp Darrowby, in de tv-series James Herriot All Creatures Great en Small gaat.
We brengen anderhalf uur door in Hawes, de hoogste marktstad van Engeland, waar je misschien wat kunt lunchen en de gratis handgemaakte kazen kunt proeven in het wereldberoemde Wensleydale Creamery Visitor Centre, het Dales Countryside Museum kunt bezoeken of gewoon de leuke winkeltjes en cafés van de stad zelf - de keuze is aan jou!
We verlaten Hawes en reizen naar het hart van het Yorkshire Dales National Park voor een aantal fotostops terwijl we door de pittoreske Dales-dorpen langs de meanderende route van de rivier Wharfe passeren.
We komen aan in het traditionele Dales-dorp Kettlewell, internationaal beroemd gemaakt in 2003 als de belangrijkste filmlocatie voor de film Calendar Girls. Je kunt het dorp verkennen en meer leren over het ware verhaal achter de film, of gewoon genieten van een biertje of koffie met de lokale bevolking in een van de pubs en cafés - wat je maar wilt!
We vervolgen onze reis door het prachtige landschap van het Nationaal Park, passeren Kilnsey Crag en het dorp Grassington terwijl we door de glooiende heuvels van Nidderdale lopen, een gebied van uitzonderlijke natuurlijke schoonheid.
Eindelijk zal er een korte stop zijn in het charmante stadje Pateley Bridge, categoriewinnaar in de Great British High Street Competition in 2016, waar je de optie hebt om "De oudste snoepwinkel ter wereld" te bezoeken (Guinness Book 2014 van records). We verlaten Pateley Bridge en gaan terug naar York.

We had a wonderful private Yorkshire Dales tour with Best of Britain and our guide, Martin. Our group of six ranged in age from 19 to 85, and Martin did an excellent job making the day enjoyable and comfortable for everyone. He picked us up and dropped us off directly at our house, which made everything incredibly easy and stress-free. Throughout the day he was very accommodating about comfort breaks for the more seasoned members of our group, and never made us feel rushed. We visited so many beautiful places including Bolton Castle, Aysgarth Falls, Masham, Hawes, Grassington, Wensleydale Creamery, and several filming locations from All Creatures Great and Small, including the church where James and Helen were married. Martin was very knowledgeable about the area and pointed out interesting scenery, landmarks, and local details that we never would have noticed on our own as UK transplants. He also happily pulled over whenever we wanted photos, which we really appreciated. Martin was kind, professional, and clearly cared about making sure we had a good experience. He even provided water bottles for the group, which was such a thoughtful touch. You could tell he genuinely enjoys sharing Yorkshire with visitors. This was a lovely way to see the Dales without the stress of driving ourselves, and I would absolutely recommend this tour to anyone wanting a relaxed, scenic, and personalized day exploring the area.

We had a fantastic day out. Chris our driver was very knowledgeable and interesting to listen to. He was very friendly and quickly worked out what things we would like to see. The Dales were stunning. Bolton Castle was decorated for Halloween. So many things to see. Cheese tasting in the Wensleydale creamery. Lunch there was 1st class. Minibus was clean and comfortable. I couldn't fault anything. Big thank you to Chris as he made our day great. I would definitely book a tour again.

We had such a great time. Our guide, Howard, was incredibly knowledgeable about the area and history and sites. We had plenty of opportunity to get out and explore, take pictures and see many sights. Would highly recommend this tour if you want to see the Dales.

The Coit try side was beautiful beyond my expectations. And, we learned much more about the places we drove through and stop to visit because our guide was so knowledgeable of the history, geography and current lifestyle of the area and engaging

Howard was a wonderful guide through the dales, where he was brought up. He neither explained too much nor too little, which is a rare capacity in a guide. He navigated all the narrow roads (lanes?) with skill and was ready to stop whenever we wanted pix. The villages are charming, including those where both versions of "All Creatures Great and Small" were filmed, but the real star of the tour is the gorgeous countryside.
