Het noorden van Portugal is groen, maar het is ook geschiedenis, traditie en moderniteit. Minho is de rivier die grenst aan het noorden van het land, maar ook het land van een wijn waarvan de enige naam groen is en die in de herinnering blijft van degenen die hem drinken. Het ontdekken van deze regio betekent betrokken raken bij Guimarães - een stad die op de werelderfgoedlijst staat sinds 2001 - met zijn kasteel, het symbool en de geboorteplaats van Portugal, wandelen door de straten en de geschiedenis voelen. Het is een bezoek aan Braga met zijn kathedraal, het gevoel hebben dat de Romeinen daar ook doorheen trokken en deel uitmaken van een moderne stad. Het gaat naar de kerk van Bom Jesus en laat je spiritueel betrokken worden door zijn kapellen en tuinen. Minho is om het landschap, de geschiedenis, de cultuur, de traditie en het Portugees te voelen.

Dit kasteel wordt beschouwd als een van de zeven wonderen van Portugal en maakt een reis naar het begin van de nationaliteit mogelijk.

Een traditie met een paar decennia die alle inwoners van Braga minstens één keer per jaar herhalen. Vandaar de uitdrukking eet een banaan en drink een "banaan". Muscat en banaan inbegrepen.

Extraordinary the whole tour very well explained by Antonio Maria our guide always attentive to any circumstance. In Braga also his restaurant recommendation was very good.

Great tour to two charming, historic towns, even in the rain. Hugo is very welcoming, friendly, knowledgeable, and a great driver. He knows the locals and the non-touristic routes. Be sure to try the banana and muscatel in Braga.

We spent a day with Ricardo, a very knowledgeable guide. Ricardo is a very courteous, affable person, attentive to the needs of his guests. He picked us up at the hotel, with a comfortable, clean car, with a bottle of water for each of us. Excellent vehicle handling. Be careful to propose breaks for breaks and need to go to the services. Our driver and guide, Diogo, was prompt at arrival and was an excellent tour guide. He was very knowledgeable and handled the tour professionally. We saw all the important sites and had a delicious snack and lunch.

Ricardo was a wonderful guide for today's fascinating tour. He arrived on time in a high end vehicle and with plenty of cold water for a hot summer day. He is loaded with facts about Portugal's history and the history of the two cities we visited. He was respectful of my pace, attentive, thoughtful, and just a pleasure to spend the day with. We plussed up our experience with a traditional Portuguese lunch, for which he made an excellent recommendation. If I return to Porto he will be the first person I'll call for more city and surrounding area explorations. Highly recommended!
