De tour kan ’s ochtends om 9:00 uur beginnen of ’s middags om 13:00 uur – de starttijd is flexibel om u maximaal comfort te bieden. We halen je op bij je hotel en beginnen met het verkennen van het centrum van Cusco. Cusco, ook gespeld als Cuzco, is een stad in het zuidoosten van Peru, bekend als de historische hoofdstad van Peru en voormalige hoofdstad van het Incarijk. U ontdekt de Plaza de Armas, de beroemde 12 Angled Stone, Loreto Street en enkele van de belangrijkste straten en gebouwen in de stad.
Vanaf het Plaza de Armas wandel je met je Gids naar Koricancha (Qorikancha), de belangrijkste tempel van het Incarijk. De naam in het Quechua betekent “Gouden Binnenplaats”, omdat het ooit rijkelijk versierd was met goud. Hier ziet u het perfecte Inca-steenwerk en leert u hoe deze heilige plaats werd gebruikt voor ceremonies, astronomie en aanbidding van de zon.
Vervolgens rijdt u in uw privévoertuig naar Sacsayhuaman, een van de meest indrukwekkende Inca-sites boven Cusco. Dit enorme fort is beroemd om zijn enorme stenen muren, gebouwd met perfect passende blokken, sommige wegen meer dan 100 ton. Terwijl je door de site loopt, zal je Gids uitleggen hoe de Inca's Sacsayhuaman bouwden en waarom het wordt beschouwd als een van de grootste voorbeelden van hun technische en architectonische vaardigheden.
Vervolgens bezoek je Qenqo (ook wel Q’enko of Kenko geschreven), een fascinerende ceremoniële site op slechts enkele kilometers van Cusco. De naam komt van een Quechua woord dat “zigzag” betekent, verwijzend naar de uitgehouwen kanalen en kronkelende vormen in de rots. Hier wandel je tussen mysterieuze altaren, tunnels en gebeeldhouwde stenen die werden gebruikt voor belangrijke Inca-rituelen. Uw Gids zal uitleggen waarom Qenqo wordt beschouwd als een heilige plaats (huaca) en de legendes en verhalen delen die verband houden met deze unieke site.
Vervolgens rijdt u naar Puca Pucara, wat in het Quechua “Rode Fort” betekent. Deze kleine Inca site werd waarschijnlijk gebruikt als militaire buitenpost en controlepost op de weg naar de Heilige Vallei en Machu Picchu. Vanaf hier kunt u een prachtig uitzicht op de omliggende heuvels en valleien zien. Puca Pucara wordt meestal bezocht samen met nabijgelegen sites zoals Tambomachay en Qenqo, waardoor het een perfecte stop is om uw circuit van Inca-ruïnes rond Cusco te voltooien.
Vervolgens bezoekt u Tambomachay, een rustige Inca-site die beroemd is om zijn kristalheldere waterfonteinen en fijn steenwerk. Vaak de “Inca Baden” genoemd, werd het waarschijnlijk gebruikt voor waterceremonies en rust door Inca adel. Dit is een perfect moment om te genieten van de frisse berglucht, foto's te maken en te blijven acclimatiseren voor uw komende reis naar Machu Picchu.
Vervolgens stop je bij Cristo Blanco, het witte Christusbeeld dat op een heuvel boven Cusco staat. Vanaf dit uitzichtpunt heb je een adembenemend panoramisch uitzicht over de hele stad, met zijn rode daken, pleinen en omliggende bergen. Het is een perfecte plek om foto's te maken, te genieten van de frisse lucht en te zien hoe Cusco zich uitstrekt over de vallei - vooral mooi in de late namiddag als de lichten van de stad beginnen aan te gaan.

A perfect way to spend your first day in Cusco, and to understand the ways and culture of the Inka. Our guide, Roger Calsin, was of exceptional value. Had an excellent experience with the private guided tour from TreXperience. Freddy was our guide and made the visit to a sacred valley and sites around Cusco most memorable.
