Ontmoet uw gids 's ochtends in uw hotel, we rijden een uur om het Terracotta Warriors Museum te bereiken. Onderweg stoppen we bij het reproductiecentrum van de Terracotta Warriors, waar je van een lokale meester kunt leren hoe je een kleine replica van de Terracotta Warriors kunt maken met hetzelfde kleimateriaal als de echte relikwieën in het museum. Vanaf hier gaan we naar het wereldberoemde Terracotta Warriors-museum, waar je getuige kunt zijn van meer dan 8.000 levensgrote Terracotta Warriors en aardewerkpaarden die zijn opgegraven uit drie grafkuilen. Deze werden begraven voor de eerste Chinese keizer die hem in het hiernamaals bewaakte, en tot hun ontdekking in 1974. Dit ondergrondse leger is nu bekend geworden als het achtste wereldwonder.
Na een bezoek aan het Terracotta Warriors Museum rijden we terug naar Xi'an om de beroemde Moslimwijk te bezoeken, hier beginnen we aan een lekkere foodie-tour, we zullen veel lokale beroemde snacks proberen voor de lunch, Liangpi-Cold noolde, Roujiamo-Pork burger, Bocaimian-Spinarch-noedels, ze zijn allemaal erg lekker en erg beroemd in China.
Na de lunch gaan we de oude stadsmuur verkennen. Het staat ook bekend als de Vestingwerken van Xi'an en is een van de grootste oude militaire verdedigingssystemen ter wereld en de meest complete stadsmuur die in China bewaard is gebleven. De muur heeft een hoogte van 12 meter (40 voet), een breedte van 12-14 meter (40-46 voet) aan de bovenkant en een dikte van 15-18 meter (50-60 voet) aan de onderkant. Het strekt zich uit over een lengte van 13,7 kilometer (8,5 mijl) met een diepe gracht eromheen. Op elke 120 meter bevindt zich een wal die zich uitstrekt vanaf de hoofdmuur om je te verdedigen tegen vijanden die naar boven klimmen. Er zijn in totaal 98 wallen, elk met een wachtgebouw waar soldaten de hele muur konden beschermen zonder zichzelf bloot te stellen aan de vijand. Dit is een geweldige kans om het oude militaire verdedigingssysteem te verkennen en meer te leren over de geschiedenis van het imperiale verleden van China. Rijd vervolgens terug naar uw hotel, de tour is dan afgelopen.

Our tour guide Owen brought us to the Muslim Quarter in Xi’an. Of particular interest was the mosque which looks very much like a prayer garden. Owen pointed out many points of interest. He brought us to the prayer hall. We could not enter but doorways are open so that you can peer in. It is one of the oldest mosques in existence. Thanks to Owen we discovered this. Also we visited the Terra-cotta soldiers. This was a great tour. Since this is a popular site, our guide, Owen took us there when others would be leaving for lunch. A great strategy! Owen explained what was happening in each of the 4 pits. Without his excellent explanation it would have been a bunch of figures in a pit. I would highly recommend this tour. Thank you Owen! The city wall is worth the climb. Beautiful view of the city and an opportunity to get an understanding of life in the past. Our guide, Owen, did a superb job of explaining the wall structure as well as the purpose and the different gates, etc. I highly recommend going to the city wall.

What a great experience! Who would have ever thought that you would make such a discovery when digging a well! Dodo was great about explaining everything and answering questions. We had a great tour of the Terra Cotta Warriors with Dodo. Having the van ride and being able to skip the line for entrance was great especially given how hot it was. Lunch was perfect. We also got to see the great mosque and the east gate of the city wall. Very good for families with younger children.

Beautiful sites, very rainy day. Driver was kind, gave us two umbrellas in addition to our two. He also helped us with the baby carriage, always smiling and friendly.
