We begeleiden je naar & rond 's werelds grootste en oudste bewoonde kasteel dat koningin Elizabeth II haar thuis noemde en haar laatste rustplaats is binnen St George's Chapel. Bezoek de ongelooflijke staatsappartementen en de prachtige stad Windsor aan de oevers van de rivier de Theems. * PLUS stoppen we bij het historische Runnymede om de JFK & Magna Carta gedenktekens te bekijken (die niet wordt aangeboden op de meeste Windsor halve dag tours.) ** PLUS de mogelijkheid om te worden begeleid naar Kensington Palace & tuinen bij terugkeer naar het centrum van Londen. Dit is het voormalige huis van prinses Diana en haar jongens Prinsen William & Harry. Deze tour kan ook worden aangepast aan uw behoeften, inclusief een lunchstop of misschien als een tussenstop vanaf Heathrow Airport.

We bezoeken het prachtige Windsor Castle, het familiehuis van British Kings & Queens voor meer dan 1000 jaar. De grootte van de 13 acre kasteel is adembenemend, en is de grootste en oudste bewoonde kasteel in de wereld en het is waar Hare Majesteit Koningin Elizabeth II koos om het grootste deel van haar tijd door te brengen en thuis genoemd. U zou zelfs uw bezoek kunnen timen wanneer de nieuwe koning Karel III in residentie is! Kijk naar de vlag die wappert vanaf de Ronde Toren van het Kasteel; als het de Koninklijke Standaard is, zal de Koning er ook zijn.
We wandelen vervolgens langs de rivier de Theems en kijken naar de boten en wilde dieren, waaronder “The King’s Swans” en steken de brug over die Windsor scheidt van Eton College, de voormalige privéschool van Prince William.
We toeren door het stadje Windsor direct na het verlaten van het kasteel. We toeren door de schilderachtige straatjes & winkeltjes (waaronder het kleinste straatje van het Verenigd Koninkrijk). We zien ook The Long Walk ingang van het kasteel & een uitzicht richting Frogmore, waar Prins Harry & Megan ooit verbleven!
PLUS Ofwel op weg naar, ofwel terugkerend uit Windsor, bezoeken we de JF Kennedy & Magna Carta memorials. Het JFK-monument staat op een hectare land dat vanuit het Verenigd Koninkrijk aan de VS is toegewezen om een van de grootste leiders van de moderne tijd te gedenken. Het Magna Carta beeld werd in 1957 ontworpen om democratie & vrijheid te eren. Het charter, hier voor het eerst ondertekend in 1215 door koning Jan, wordt tot op de dag van vandaag gehuldigd door de Amerikaanse Orde.
Maak Kensington Palace uw drop-off punt en misschien lunchen daar in de uitstekende tuinen of restaurants op de weg terug naar het centrum van Londen. Kensington Palace is waar prinses Diana woonde en waar prins William & prinses Catherine woonden met hun jonge familie voordat ze verhuisden naar Windsor. We nemen je mee door de Royal Kensington Gardens en laten je kennismaken met het Palace & Grounds. * Toegang tot het Paleis & museum is optioneel & alleen per ticket.

I highly recommend Barry Tours UK. We had a lovely tour of Windsor with Barry, who provided a lot of local commentary and historical context. He managed to get us fast-tracked from the long lines to optimize our time. Unbeknownst to us, we were amidst history in the making as King Charles hosted President Zelensky at Windsor Castle while we explored the State Apartments. In the afternoon, we enjoyed a leisurely lunch in Windsor, at a pub on the River Thames. On the way back to London, we made a historic stop at Runnymede, which is not to be missed. Barry was warm, friendly, engaged in his work and quite exceptional.

Barry is a great host for touring London and surrounding areas. He is very accommodating and brings a lot of personal history to the areas we visited. He made every detail (including pictures) of the trip easy and convenient and even made personal reservations for us at a great restaurant on the Thames. We plan on utilizing him again for the next trip to London!

Barry was incredibly knowledgeable, funny and accommodating when he spent the day with our family of 5. He thoughtfully planned our itinerary so that there were no surprises and kept the attention of an 18, 16 and 10 year old simultaneously! We will book him again for our next visit for sure.

My family enjoyed the private Windsor tour with Barry in his London black cab. It was a perfect day! As a London black cab driver, Barry is an iconic, highly trained professional who has passed the rigorous exam to memorize thousands of streets and landmarks. His amazing knowledge was on display during our detailed, personal tour through London on the way there and back and in Windsor castle, Windsor, Eton and Kensington gardens. Barry, hearing that we had just seen Paddington the musical and were big fans, made a quick photo stop at a Paddington bear statue with an iconic phone booth in the background before dropping us home as an extra bonus. He took lots of great family photos throughout the day and made the entire experience very memorable!

5 star guided tour!! Barry is super knowledgeable about Windsor and the Castle. In fact he’s a wealth of knowledge on a lot of topics, some you’ll see in the history books and some you won’t! Barry also gave us a great tour of Belgravia on the way out to Windsor. We also had my 83 year old mum with us and she was getting a bit tired and he took extremely good care of her. We finished up the tour with a fab lunch at the boatman and stopped off to see where the Magna Carta was signed in Runnymede. Highly recommend Barry Tours !!

We booked the private Windsor tour with Barry, who picked us up at our hotel. Barry was very informative and an excellent tour guide, he even took photos of our group at key locations throughout the day. For lunch, Barry had reserved us a spot at the Boatman restaurant in which the food was delicious! Overall, I would highly recommend Barry and his tour for when you visit London.
