Yoko is a wonderful person and we had a great experience. The food was as good as any restaurant and we had the experience of helping to prepare it and getting a recipe as well as having the experience to be able to prepare it again. It was a great evening and would highly recommend this experience.
We had a fun group class making sushi and miso soup with Masato. He was communicative, on time, helpful and we learned a lot. He originally grew up in the States so was great with English for us also from the States. Thanks!
Today we cooked delicious local dishes with Yoko at her home in Osaka. Okonomiyaki, pickled seafood and cucumber, Shira-ae (Veggies with tofu and sesame dressing), Miso soup After that we strolled down Osaka's longest shopping street, ate really good sushi and then ended the day with coffee and cake in the hotel garden.
We spent a wonderful moment with Yoko! She is very nice and welcoming and made us feel very confortable at her home. The dishes were quite easy to do with their explanations and very good. We will definitely try to make them again at home. Plus, she gave us many tips (places to go for eating, shopping and visiting in Osaka and elsewhere in Japan). It was definitely one of our best experiences on Japan. Thank you so much!
It was a great experiencia, having a private class, i got to choose what i wanted to learn. Yoko is very knowledgeable, and she shared great tips on how to adapt the recipies onces Im back home with more límites access to japanese products. Dinner time was also nice, she has travelled a lot and is very open and nice to chat with. Highly recomend
Booked a cooking lesson (as a couple) last minute, due to other plans being cancelled and Yoko responded and approved right away. The class was great and she explained a lot, giving many recommendations and tailoring the meal to what we wanted (she even explained how to make dishes that take a longer period, which we couldn't do in the time frame). We left with a lot of useful knowledge and the ability to make some of our favorite dishes from Japan at home. Was great to chat about interests, cities, travel plans and ideas, in addition to enjoying a great meal. Would highly recommend!!
This was one of the best experiences during our travel in Japan. The food is easy to cook and soooo good! We will make this at home again and think of this beautiful day. Yuko was a joy to cook with, giving us lots of Informationen about the ingredients and how to replace them if needed. I am gluten and diary free and even though that can make cooking a little more different and harder sometimes Yuko changed the recepies so i can enjoy them too!
Thankyou Yoko! We loved cooking with you in your home. We felt very welcome and the food was delicious. Some great tips we'll take back with us to Aus 🇦🇺🦘 Dōmo arigatōgozaimasu
Our cooking class with Yoko was fantastic- one of the highlights of our entire trip to Japan. She showed us the local shrine on the walk to our house and was generous and informative with her comprehensive knowledge of Japanese food and culinary traditions. The four of us (parents plus two teenagers) loved the class and then eating the results (goyza and okononmiaki) in her home. Highly recommended.
Yoshiko was a joy to cook with! She was very thorough and well-spoken in her explanations and demonstrations (her English is excellent) and she was incredibly friendly and hospitable. We prepared the "Mother's Taste" lunch menu and it was delicious! She gave cultural context and explanations for the ingredients and each dish was authentic and very accessible. Even if you are a more inexperienced cook, you'll be able to make these dishes. We loved our experience and would recommend it to anyone who would like to have a traditional Japanese meal and enjoy the company of a very kind Japanese host.
