Dit is een unieke kans voor degenen die misschien niet zoveel tijd hebben om de volledige Inca Trail te wandelen. Deze trektocht combineert hoogtepunten van de originele Inca Trail met enkele van de mooiste Inca ruïnes genesteld in de dichte vegetatie van het nevelwoud. Dit is de enige tour waarmee je wandelend naar Machu Picchu kunt komen om de zonsondergang te ervaren. Onze Short Inca Trail tour begint met een vroeg vertrek vanuit je hotel in Cusco (rond 4:00 AM) en rijdt 1,5 uur naar het Ollantaytambo treinstation. Als je in een hotel in de Heilige Vallei verblijft, zoals Ollantaytambo, kunnen we rond 5:30 uur beginnen.
Zodra we in Ollantaytambo aankomen, stappen we aan boord van de expeditietrein naar de Inca Trail. Het is een treinrit van 1 uur en 30 minuten langs de Urubamba-rivier van Ollantaytambo (in de hooglanden) naar km 104 bij Chachabamba (in het nevelwoud), waar we onze wandeling naar Machu Picchu beginnen.
De aankomst op de Inca Trail in Chachabamba rond 8:00 uur. Je toont je originele paspoort bij het controlepunt, bereidt je voor op de wandeling, bezoekt de eerste inca-site van de archeologische vindplaats Chachabamba en begint de korte Inca Trail-wandeling naar Wiñaywayna en Sungate.
Na 4 uur wandelen over de Short Inca Trail komen we aan bij de grote archeologische vindplaats Wiñaywayna. Je hebt tijd om de verbazingwekkende Inca-site van Wiñay Wayna te verkennen en een rondleiding te krijgen, waarbij je de schoonheid en betekenis ervan waardeert.
Na de lunch in Wiñaywayna gaan we verder naar de Sungate (Inti Punku), waar we rond 14.00 uur aankomen. Neem even de tijd om te genieten van je eerste adembenemende uitzicht op Machu Picchu vanaf een unieke plek.
Vervolgens wandel je 1 uur naar Machu Picchu, kom je aan bij View Point en heb je in de middag een rondleiding met minder mensen door Circuit 1.
Tegen 17.00 uur begint u aan de afdaling naar Aguas Calientes, heeft u wat vrije tijd en stapt u aan boord van de 18.20 uur Expeditietrein terug naar Ollantaytambo en een privébusje terug naar Cusco. De verwachte aankomsttijd is rond 21.30 uur terug in Cusco

Frank, Alejandro and entire team were great. The 1 day trip with short inca trail and getting to and from Cusco was a long day but worth it! Trekperience guides were fun and personable, and all of the food was made fresh on the trail and amazing! Highly recommend for those that like a challenge with an awesome reward at the end!

The trek experience was awesome Jason our guide was very knowledgeable and answered every question that I had. Alejandro, was our second guide saved my life. I got elevation sickness really bad could not carry my pack and had not been for Alejandro. I would not have finished. The guy carried my pack. The whole trip. Great job. Overall, I would 100% recommend trek experience to everyone Jason and Alejandro were great guides very knowledgeable and spoke everything clearly and the instructions were very clear. Food was outstanding overall I would give this company and the guides a 10 out of 10.

We just did the one-day Inca Trail hike to Machu Picchu, and we can’t recommend it enough — especially if you’re lucky enough to have Renato as your guide. This was a challenging hike for us since we’re not used to the elevation, and my wife wasn’t feeling great that day. Renato was patient, supportive, and incredibly attentive the entire time. He inspired her — even when I couldn’t — to keep going, and we’re so grateful for that. We had amazing weather too. It started out a bit cloudy but turned in our favor throughout the day. Along the way, Renato shared so many fascinating details about the history of Peru, the origins of the Incas, and the story of Machu Picchu. He made it fun, answered all our questions, and brought the whole experience to life. To top it off, Renato went above and beyond — he even ran to get us some pizzas just before the last train so we’d have food for the ride back. From start to finish, he took care of every detail and made sure we felt supported and safe. This was truly an unforgettable experience, and we can’t thank Renato enough for making it so special. Highly recommend Katie, our tour guide. She is highly knowledgeable about Incan history and knows her way around the Incan trail like a boss. She got us to where to where we needed to be, on time, every time. The combination of her warm and friendly demeanor and rugged hiking skills was an excellent motivator during the sometimes difficult trail. Love her spirit, and her love of her land.
