Warschau, een onoverwonnen stad, vroeger het terrein van hertogen en koningen, tegenwoordig de hoofdstad van Polen. De stad, die tijdens de Tweede Wereldoorlog van de aardbodem werd gehaald en als een feniks uit de as uit de ruïnes herboren werd. Een stad vol contrasten, levendig, internationaal, open en vriendelijk – een plek die op elk moment verrast met diversiteit. Afhankelijk van de huidige verkeerssituatie kan de route enigszins worden gewijzigd. Maak er kennis mee vanuit de zetel van de historische Fiat 125p – legende van de Poolse motorisering. Houd er rekening mee dat groepen van meer dan 4 personen rondgereden worden in een blauwe vintage minibus - bekijk het op onze foto's.

Tijdens de reis bezoeken we de oude binnenstad, die op de UNESCO-lijst van werelderfgoed staat en ontdek je welke 4 gebouwen de Tweede Wereldoorlog hebben overleefd.
Het is een historisch plein voor het koninklijk kasteel dat de oude binnenstad verbindt met de koninklijke route.
De kolom op het kasteelplein herdenkt koning Sigismund III Vasa.

We zullen de Joodse wijk bekijken en de overblijfselen van het getto zien. Daar zullen we leren over de tragische geschiedenis van de Joden in Warschau. Tijdens de reis zijn er tal van plaatsen verbonden met de opstand van Warschau, de grootste gewapende opstand van burgers tijdens de Tweede Wereldoorlog.
Warschau Praga district is een magisch fragment van Warschau. Het is exotisch en uitzonderlijk vanwege het feit dat het veel minder werd getroffen door de Tweede Wereldoorlog dan de rest van de stad. Het maakt het de enige plek waar je de echte geest van het verleden Warschau kunt voelen.

We had a great tour with pick up and drop off with Jacob. He was passionate in sharing the stories and history of the Pols and the ups and downs of Warsaw as a City. He was well versed in English and communicated clearly. We had a few opportunities to customize the tour and he adjusted the pace of the tour to our needs. The private tour worked well for us as we were on a layover. The tour was concise and it gave us a great overview of Poland for future. We enjoyed both the west and east bank of the city. Of course we enjoyed the retro car as well. We were only two people but saw another group of four and it looked a bit snug. We were picked up from a city centre hotel and then we asked to be dropped off at the city centre rail station and we took the train back to the airport. Highly recommended.
Alek was our guide/driver and what a great tour around the city we had! With limited time in Warsaw, this tour was the perfect way to get an overall sense of Warsaw’s history and see the significant sites.
