Je wordt opgehaald bij je accommodatie en wordt naar het treinstation gebracht. Uw Engels sprekende chauffeur helpt u bij het inchecken en wacht tot u aan boord van de trein naar Krakau gaat. Na een treinrit wordt u verwelkomd door een lokale Engelssprekende chauffeur en start uw tour via gedeeld vervoer naar Auschwitz. Begeleide groepsreis door Auschwitz en Birkenau duurt tot 3,5 uur. Je leert meer over de tragische geschiedenis van de Holocaust. Daarna vertrek je uit Auschwitz-Birkenau voor een reis van 1,5 uur naar Krakau. Je hebt drie uur vrije tijd om het marktplein in Krakau te zien, het grootste middeleeuwse oude stadsplein in Europa. In de oude binnenstad bezoekt u Wawel Hill, waar de kathedraal en het koninklijk kasteel zijn, de stadhuistoren, de St. Mary's Basiliek, de Barbacane Krakau en Sukiennice - de Lakenhalle. U zult het belangrijkste marktplein in Krakau zien, het grootste middeleeuwse oude stadsplein in Europa. In de oude stad vindt u ook de Wawel-heuvel - met de kathedraal en het koninklijk kasteel (tot 1611 was Wawel de formele zetel van de Poolse monarchie - het was de plaats van koninklijke kroningen), stadhuis toren, St. Mary's Basilica, Krakau Barbican en Sukiennice (Lakenhal), duizenden bars en heerlijke regionale restaurants, vele historische gebouwen en door paarden aangedreven taxi's.
Het concentratiekamp in Auschwitz werd in 1940 door Duitse nazi's aan de rand van de stad Oswiecim opgericht. Na de oorlog werd het kamp omgebouwd tot een museum met bewijsstukken van de genocide. Blok nr. Op nummer 11, bekend als het Death Block, werden ook mensen vermoord bij de “Wall of Death”. Buiten het kamp bevindt zich een gaskamer, waar tussen 1940 en 1943 70.000 mensen omkwamen. In 1979 werd concentratiekamp Auschwitz-Birkenau op de Werelderfgoedlijst van UNESCO geplaatst.

Great an Amazing experience from the start to finish. I even made a life time friend with Stanislaw B. - This is a Must do if you have a full day. You will learn lots about history and how the Jews and many other people got mistreated-imprisoned-tortured-killed-gassed killed. I highly recommend this tour and this company.

This tour was exceptionally well organized and made it possible to visit two of Poland’s most important destinations in a single day without having to plan the complicated logistics myself. Every aspect of the journey—from the train tickets and transfers to the local transportation and timing—was handled seamlessly. The visit to Auschwitz-Birkenau Memorial and Museum was an incredibly moving and sobering experience. Walking through the preserved barracks, railway tracks, and memorials serves as a powerful reminder of one of history’s darkest chapters. Our guide presented the history with professionalism, respect, and compassion, helping visitors understand not only the historical facts but also the human stories behind them. What an amazing experience. No issues getting picked up at our hotel and getting to the train station. Once we were at the train station someone picked us up to take us to Auschwitz. They already had our tickets and the guide was waiting for us. The process was very smooth our guide Barbara was very informative and highly recommended!
Know that the experience may be difficult due to the nature of the subject matter. Since you visit sites that deserve respect, I would not recommend bringing children who would not understand the significance. On logistical notes, you will need to be able to find your correct meeting points, minor navigation is required. I recommend bringing an umbrella or rain poncho.
Tour included hotel pick up, train to Krakow, round trip to Auschwitz and Birkenau, then train back to Warsaw. Well worth the cost. Wear comfortable shoes, lots of walking but well worth it. Mia the English speaking tour guide was excellent. Dawid our driver was good, a little aggressive but got us there in time.
