Ik ben Kevin en je zou kunnen zeggen dat ik een culturele tolk ben, geen leraar (kennis doorgeven) of toeristische gids (dingen aanwijzen). Ik ben meer een omgekeerde antropoloog: een lokale deskundige insider die de cultuur en geschiedenis van Rothenburg uitlegt en deelt met mijn nieuwsgierige klanten. Ik leid verkennende wandelingen en ongeschreven culturele ervaringen. Informatie wordt gepresenteerd op een manier die mijn gasten in staat stelt hun eigen mentale verbanden te leggen, want een rondleiding met alleen maar interessante informatie is tenslotte infotainment. De meest memorabele tours zijn de tours die mensen aan het denken zetten en voelen. Rothenburg, schijnbaar onaangetast door het verstrijken van de tijd, is een stad aan de Romantische Strasse die ongeveer. 1 uur rijden van Neurenberg. Het staat bekend om zijn middeleeuwse stadscentrum en zijn grotendeels onbeschadigde 14e-eeuwse stadsmuur. In de Middeleeuwen was Rothenburg een vrije keizerlijke stad, die in de 15e eeuw haar hoogtepunt van welvaart bereikte.

Mijn dagtrip naar Rothenburg vertrekt om 10.00 uur vanuit Neurenberg en keert rond 18.00 uur terug naar Neurenberg, 7 dagen per week bij regen of zonneschijn. Rothenburg staat bekend om zijn middeleeuwse stadscentrum en zijn grotendeels onbeschadigde 14e-eeuwse stadsmuur. Deze tour neemt je mee naar alle interessante, historische locaties binnen de middeleeuwse stadsmuur die een integraal onderdeel zijn van de rijke geschiedenis van Rothenburg. Enkele van de locaties die we zullen verkennen zijn de kasteelpoort en de kasteeltuin met uitzicht op de Tauber-vallei, Plönlein (pleintje) en de Siebers-toren, het indrukwekkende Spital Bastion en het Handworkers House uit 1217. Na de tour kun je ' Je hebt tijd om het Criminal Museum te bezoeken, een wandeling te maken langs de top van de middeleeuwse stadsmuur, of gewoon te winkelen en alle verleidelijke zijstraten en steegjes in deze goed bewaarde middeleeuwse stad te verkennen. Mijn dagtour door Rothenburg is een ontspannen, kindvriendelijke wandeltocht waarbij JIJ het tempo bepaalt. Vergeet niet comfortabele wandelschoenen aan te trekken.

I had an amazing tour of Rotenburg. From the time Kevin picked me up in Nuremberg, to the time he dropped me back off at the end of the day he was extremely knowledgeable and provide interesting information throughout the journey to and through Rotenburg. He allowed me to set the pace for the tour and I didn't feel rushed to move on if something caught my interest. He allowed me time to explore on my own and made sure I was comfortable with where to locate him before I ventured off on my own. He had a terrific recommendation for a lunch location. I would definitely reach out to him again if I am find myself back in the area and in need of a guide.

We stayed in Nuremberg and traveled to Rothenburg for a Christmas market day trip. Kevin was very knowledgeable about the history of the city during a private walking tour with him, followed by a tasty lunch and shopping time.

Kevin was very knowledgeable and interesting on our 8 hour tour. Loved the history of rothenberg o b t . Lots of little known facts about the town and its prior members midevil residents. It was emotional to hear and experience where Jewish families lived and parished during the midevil plague and WW2. With only a brass square in the sidewalk to commemorate their existence. It’s sad no Jewish families are living in Rothenberg today. Knowing history is the only way to prevent it from happening again.
