Vaar naar het noorden voorbij de Marine Park wateren waar u het beste snorkelen vindt aan boord van het enige niet-speedbootschip dat de eilanden bereikt. Begin uw reis in het zuidwesten van Koh Samui, waar we de pittoreske Five Islands passeren. Deze eilanden herbergen een mysterieus en zelden gezien fenomeen, het oogsten van vogelnesten.
Onze eerste stop in de Ang Thong Marine Park-archipel is ook de meest afgelegen en magische plek, exclusief voor onze tour. Ga voor een begeleide kajaktocht op zee langs de kustlijn en verken de indrukwekkende kliffen, kalkstenen eilanden, grotten, magische tunnels en een geheime lagune. Of spring op onze bijboot die de kajaks vergezelt.
Vaar noordwaarts voorbij de wateren van het Marine Park, naar Koh Wao, waar u de beste snorkelplekken vindt.
We varen verder naar het noorden en bereiken de Ko Wao-eilandengroep, die enkele van de beste locaties biedt om het levendige tropische rif te verkennen. Het wordt beschouwd als een van de 20 beste snorkelplekken in Thailand. We zijn het enige niet-speedbootschip dat deze bestemming bereikt. We zullen de optimale locatie selecteren, afhankelijk van de omstandigheden, om ervoor te zorgen dat u de best mogelijke onderwaterreis heeft. Na een korte veiligheidsbriefing, zal onze bemanning je voorzien van complete snorkeluitrusting en je meenemen op een begeleide onderwatertour om een fantastisch onderwaterleven te zien. Niet-zwemmers en jonge kinderen zijn welkom om in ons drijvende vlot met netten te komen, waarmee u het tropische rif kunt zien vanuit de veiligheid van een vlot.
We gaan terug naar het marine park en passeren Ko Lao Yu om van het landschap te genieten. Op dit punt bieden we je een heerlijk lunchbuffet terwijl je langs de meest interessante kalkstenen eilanden van Ang Thong park reist, die uit de zee oprijzen als dramatische rotswanden en bizarre rotsformaties.
Koh Thong Thaeng is een van de grotere eilanden in het Marine Park, en een schoonheid om te zien.
Vervolgens passeren we Ko Wa Noi op weg naar Ko Mae Ko om de Blue Lagoon te zien.
Als we naar het zuiden gaan, passeren we ook Ko Sam Sao of drie zustereilanden, met zijn opmerkelijke natuurstenen brug die zich uitstrekt in de zee, met schone witte zandstranden.
In Ko Mae Ko vind je de beroemde "Blue Lagoon", de inspiratie voor het boek van Alex Garland en de latere film "The Beach". Ook bekend als het "Emerald Lake", noemt de lokale bevolking het "Talay Nai", wat "binnen zee" betekent en het wordt algemeen beschouwd als het hoogtepunt van het Ang Thong Marine Park. Wij zijn de laatste boot die Ko Mae Ko mag bezoeken, wat betekent dat we geen andere georganiseerde tours tegenkomen.
Hier kunt u besluiten om naar het uitkijkpunt te klimmen of te ontspannen op het afgelegen strand. Beklim de steile trappen langs smalle ravijnen voor een panoramisch uitzicht op de 42 eilanden van het park. Zodra we de top hebben bereikt, waag je je naar de andere kant om het volledig omsloten verborgen zoutwatermeer van dichtbij te bekijken, dat naast zijn schoonheid ook fungeert als een natuurlijke kraamkamer voor allerlei soorten zeeleven.
Als we teruggaan naar Ko Samui, passeren we ook Ko Wua Talap, het hoofdkantoor van Marine Park.
Vaar langs Phaluai Island, een van de weinige bewoonde eilanden in het Ang Thong Marine Park, de thuisbasis van een kleine gemeenschap van "zigeunervissers", de oorspronkelijke mensen die zich in de Samui-archipel vestigden. Geniet van de schilderachtige cruise terug naar Ko Samui, koel af met een paar drankjes en een bananensplit op het dek, of neem een duik in onze jacuzzi. Op de meeste dagen zul je een prachtig uitzicht op de zonsondergang omarmen die je een leven lang bij zal blijven.

We spent excellent day with amazing crew and chef on this boat and snorkeling trip. The crew provided us with great snorkeling equipments, we had fantastic lunch on board and had a lot of fun on the way. We were also lucky enough to see dolphins and a lot of colorful fish.
I found this trip online as I am not fan of speed boats and this operator offered a slower boat to the marine park with time to enjoy the trip. We (2 adults and 2 teenagers) enjoyed the trip with the red dragon so much. Fun activities and excellent staff who does everything to make you feel comfortable. We can just say: go as soon as you can! you will have the best day. Best for active families, lots of time to relax but the trip is the most fun if you take part in the snorkling, kayaking and hiking. All activities are safe and guided by the friendly staff on the boat.
We had an absolutely fantastic full-day boat tour and couldn't have asked for a better experience. The entire crew was outstanding from start to finish—friendly, professional, attentive, and always smiling. They made us feel welcome throughout the day and went above and beyond to ensure everything was perfect. A special mention goes to our captain Two, who was simply incredible with our children. He was patient, kind, and made them feel involved and excited all day long. His warm personality and genuine care made the trip even more memorable for our family. Perfect family day trip to Ang Thong Marine Park. The crew were fantastic and made our group of 15 feel very welcomed and relaxed. Two and his crew were so attentive. We had to have a later start and they were so accommodating. From pick up to drop off we were treated like family. The food was delicious and the kids loved the banana splits at the end. My sister was proposed to during the kayak portion on a small beach in torrential rain and the crew helped make the moment unforgettable. This was a fabulous trip. The Blue Dragon is not a speed boat so it does take the best part of two hours to get to Ang Thong but the payback is that it is a smoother ride and they can take kayaks. Once we arrived we jumped into the kayaks and explored the caves and then kayaked to a small inlet which was magical, photo opportunities galore and not another boat in sight, really terrific experience. We were provided with excellent food and all in all very well looked after. We were a family of six and the Blue Lagoon gave us ample space to relax and enjoy the day, highly recommended.

Everything was perfect. Even though it was a full-day tour, it wasn’t tiring at all we enjoyed every part of it. This was the best part of our trip to Thailand. We saw so much, with the snorkeling as the highlight of the trip. Easily worth the price for sure. The staff was well organized, friendly and very professional. The food, prepared on board, was delicious and gave a lot of options. We rented the entire boat for our family gathering, which was perfect since we were traveling with an infant and a toddler and needed privacy. The whole experience was incredible. The crew was very helpful with the kids, and the amount of food was three times more than we needed 😅. Our guide, Tatiana, was very informative and experienced. It was a great trip to Ang Marine Park. The park is awesome and snorkeling was amazing. The lunch on board was very tasty. However, the boat is a bit slow and it took 2.5 hrs one way which left little time to enjoy the park. In retrospect, speed boat would have been a better choice.
