In Fanal is het middelpunt ongetwijfeld het bos van eeuwenoude tis (Ocotea foetens) – deze exemplaren dateren al van voor de ontdekking van de archipel. Ze maken deel uit van het inheemse Laurissilva-bos, dat zich hier uit in een staat van instandhouding die indrukwekkend is vanwege zijn levendigheid. De tour stelt u in staat om op uw eigen tempo te lopen binnen de tijd die wij voorzien, zonder gedoe met het parkeren van een auto of het betalen van parkeergeld en afhankelijk van beschikbaarheid.

A harder walk than expected!! Totally safe but ups and downs a plenty. Thoroughly enjoyed it though, a bit different to the rest of the island and the laurel trees near the end were very impressive. Our driver Adriana was lovely too, very helpful and kind. A great day out
Great walk, nice views but often shaded by the trees. Walking shoes/boots recommended because the ground is stony. Suggest a hat too as the sun can be fierce. Straight forward to navigate but there are a couple of tricks to be avoided. We did it in 4 hours. Take plenty of water.
Trip was very nice, made a "rooftop" video. Only the trail itself was very slippery due to rain the day before. I fell and slipped a few meters down a hill. No injuries, but a little shocked, i looked for the road and cut of a part of the trail.
Very safe ride, good explanation of how to run and Filipe also has a lot else to tell. Gladly again
We did 3 walks with DoItMadeira. The PR13 Fanal Walk, the PR8 San Lorenzo and PR9 Levada de Caldera de Verde. On PR8 and PR7 we walked as a couple. On PR13 the 6 of us walked as a group and enjoyed the banter/chat. Pick ups and drop offs perfect, booking easy and great comms from Jessica and Logan. We had to reschedule one walk due to illness and Jessica was kind and extremely helpful rebooking us. All 3 drivers we had were professional, enthusiastic and safe. The info they gave us for each walk was perfect. We really enjoyed the mix of walking ourselves but knowing we were safely picked up and dropped off and someone knew where we were. Also great not to need a car with all the associated probs of driving and parking, and on a linear walk like PR8 Fanal Forest how to get back to the start point. I would highly recommend DoIt Madeira if thinking of walking on Madeira. Reliable and professional. Hence we used them for 3 walks.
Nice and reliable service! Our driver was very helpful and service minded. The PR13 is an easy to moderate hike with great views and not too much people. You will have a varied landscape; from forests, Mountain views to plains. Highly recommend to see this route through this service, as the route takes you from point A to B, and the route otherwise would be 22 km and a lot more challenging. With this service you’re looking at 10,7 km with the best part waiting for you at the end!
Beautiful hike we wouldn’t have been able to do without transportation service. Filipe made day really easy and smooth from pick up to collection and end and then drop off. Also gave us some really good recommendation for Funchal, Enough time to do hike and have free time at end. Nice to do a walk with zero people on it until end too. Used this company for several transfers that you can’t reach with public transport and always super smooth and great communication. They also reach out far enough in advance in case of bad weather so you have some days to reschedule if trails will close. Highly recommend.
