Ga met me mee naar de Balik Pulau plattelandstour in Penang! Ik zal je 2 uur lang een local in Penang laten ervaren, en laat me het verhaal van Balik Pulau met je delen! We gaan naar een van de mooiste rijstveldpaden en naar de kleurrijke bezienswaardigheden en geuren van de lokale dorpen, het Maleis en het vissersdorp. Deze tour haalt je 's ochtends om 07.00 uur of 07.30 uur op van je verblijf en krijgt de ochtendbries om je humeur voor de dag te verbeteren. Er wordt een lokale lichte snack geserveerd. Fietstocht start van 8u tot 10u+-. Het hoogtepunt van de tour: Paddy Field Trail - waar we stoppen bij een containerkunst van 40 voet.

Malindo-strand - een van de populaire stranden op het eiland Penang. Er is een inleverservice beschikbaar na de tour.
Mangrove - Dit mangrovebos dient als vitale habitat voor verschillende soorten en is een belangrijk gebied voor natuurbehoud en ecotoerisme. Het bos maakt deel uit van een grotere inspanning om mangrove-ecosystemen te beschermen en te herstellen, die cruciaal zijn voor de mariene biodiversiteit en het levensonderhoud van kustgemeenschappen.

Great morning / easy cycling along tracks and quiet roads - only noise was bird song. Learnt a lot about countryside and farming in Penang. A real contrast to Georgetown.
A countryside tour with cycling. Guide was knowledgeable and enthusiastic. Return car included transporting pigeons!

Our tour was excellent, taking us to places we would never have seen. While the bikes were simple without gears or suspension it was flat countryside and the pace was easy. A visit to a small farm was interesting to compare to UK farming and we stopped for a refreshing lemon drink and banana cake overlooking paddy fields about to be harvested. The fishing village and mangroves nearby showed the importance of small fishing ports to the rural economy. Not only was the bike ride interesting but the taxi ride too and from made more sense of the urban sprawl that covers the east of the island. Definitely worth the effort.
A very nice couple of hours riding through the country side. Easy ride with Sam. He shared a lot about the local lifestyle.
Amazing well run experience… my 17 year old daughter and I loved it… lots to explore and interesting places to visit… cycling was not hard at all …and lots of breaks and photo opportunities… it was so nice to get out and explore out of the city
Sam was the perfect guide and was very keen to show us all that his region had to offer. Excellent bike tour and he made sure we had plenty of stops for interesting photos. The lemon drink was perfect and the location, peaceful.
Really enjoyed a few hours in the countryside with Jack. The cycles weren’t super delux but worked fine and Jack’s enthusiasm and passion for his area were infectious. Booking was easy and transparent, with great communication. A really well organised tour at a very reasonable price.
The tour was really good, the guide Sam was really knowledgeable and passionate about the countryside and showed us around, we got picked up and dropped off at our hotel in George Town, we cycled around the countryside for a couple of hours, had some fresh fruit and a tea and cake, it was a really beautiful cycle
We had an amazing time exploring rural Penang with Sam our tour guide. The cycle was flat and very easy, 9K total with lots of stops visiting farms, plantations etc. We got to sample fruits straight off the trees as well as banana bread and lemon drinks. It rained the whole time but we still loved it. Sam was great. Would definitely recommend.
We did this tour this morning and we are very excited! We were picked up at our hotel in George Town and taken to the other side of the island. There we got the bikes designated, these were a bit small but we are big Dutch. The guide was very enthusiastic and could tell a lot about what you encounter. There is cycling at a leisurely pace so you can look around. About halfway you also get a nice drink with a cake. It is also a nice change from the big city. As far as we are concerned, highly recommended!
