De vuurtoren is meer dan een eeuw geleden gebouwd en staat hoog tussen enorme granieten rotsblokken en de beukende golven van de krachtige Atlantische Oceaan. Breng tijd door met het verkennen van de schilderachtige omgeving voordat u naar het charmante, actieve vissersdorpje beneden gaat waar u winkels, eetgelegenheden, de William de-Garthe Art Gallery en meer vindt. Swissair-vlucht 111 (SR111/SWR111) was een geplande internationale passagiersvlucht van John F. Kennedy International Airport in New York City, Verenigde Staten, naar Cointrin Airport in Genève, Zwitserland. De vlucht was ook een codesharevlucht met Delta Air Lines.[1] Op 2 september 1998 stortte de McDonnell Douglas MD-11 die deze vlucht uitvoerde, registratie HB-IWF, neer in de Atlantische Oceaan ten zuidwesten van Halifax Stanfield International Airport bij de ingang van St. Margarets Bay, Nova Scotia. De crashlocatie lag 8 kilometer (5 mijl; 4 nmi) van de kust, ongeveer even ver van de kleine vissers- en toeristengemeenschappen van Peggy's Cove en Bayswater, waarbij alle 229 passagiers en bemanningsleden aan boord van de MD-11 omkwamen, waardoor de crash het dodelijkste ongeluk in de geschiedenis van Swissair was en het dodelijkste ongeluk met de McDonnell Douglas MD-11. Het is tevens het op één na dodelijkste vliegtuigongeluk dat ooit in Canada heeft plaatsgevonden, na Arrow Air-vlucht 1285R.

Zuber was a wonderful tour guide! He took us to Peggy’s Cove with some stops along the way and back for photo ops and Titanic grave site. He goes the extra mile for sure to make sure you are comfortable and taken care of! He even took pictures of us so we were able to have pics together!! I highly reccomend this tour company and Zuber!!

This was a great experience. Our driver was friendly and accommodating. It was great to have a private car for a nice drive through the country side after being on the cruise ship surrounded by lots of people. He shared information about the area as we made the trip to Peggy's Cove and answered any questions. He asked us about the temperature in the car, if we wanted to stop for coffee, or listen to music. We had time to walk around the lighthouse and explore some of the shops at Peggy's Cove. Then we stopped at the Swiss flight memorial. He provided umbrellas and took photos for us. Then back to Halifax to visit one of the cemeteries where Titanic passengers were buried. Afterwards he offered to take us back to the ship or drop us downtown. We have visited Halifax several times and never left the downtown area, this tour was great to see much more of the area, including homes, lakes, and the ocean. I would highly recommend this if you are interested in more of a local flavor!

It was best to arrange with Viator (provided by Amman tours) than take a cruise bus to Peggy's Cove. Mr.Bractic was a wonderful guide!!

The tour guide Ali, was fabulous but he was not given the correct information. We booked Peggy’s Cove, the Swiss air flight memorial, and the Titanic cemetery. When my friends took the trip, the Tour guide was under the impression it was just Peggy‘s Cove and back to the ship. They had to ask about the Swiss air flight and the driver said he could do it, but it was in the opposite direction so they said just take us to the Titanic cemetery. When there the driver was not allowed to go in the cemetery, so dropped off at the gateOn our past tours in Halifax have been much more well organized. But again the guide was a very accommodating young man.

Serene car ride with good historical information from our driver on the way!! The scenery was beautiful and there is more than plenty of time at Peggy’s Cove and having a lobster roll also!! We arrived in plenty of time to enjoy Garrisons Brewery in the port before boarding! Highly recommend and the price is right!!
