Triëst, prachtig kustlandschap, kastelen, grotten en natuurlijk de stad zelf. Genesteld in de noordoostelijke hoek van Italië, omarmd door groene heuvels in de ene en de Middellandse Zee aan de andere kant met de met sneeuw bedekte Dolomieten in het noorden. De tour neemt je mee naar Miramare Castle dat op het puntje van het voorgebergte uitkijkt over de zee. Het kasteel is omgeven door een prachtig park met waardevolle botanische soorten waar men kan ontspannen. Deze adellijke residentie in opdracht van aartshertog Ferdinand Maximiliaan van Habsburg en zijn vrouw Charlotte werd gebouwd tussen 1856 en 1860.

Beautiful castle and loved the history behind it with the AustrianHungarian empire. Tram ride was cool too.
Ernest took us on a quiet, relaxed drive near the bay to the Miramar Castle and gardens - ENJOY a cafe ! Then a panoramic drive up to a modern church with stunning views;
Miramare castle and the arrogant Maximillian family was an interesting visit. The gardens are nice. The view spectacular.
Dean was personable, informative giving a wonderful tour of Trieste and its hills. We saw the beautiful Miramere Castle where we also walked it lovely grounds. We were also able to see the Sanctuary of Monte Grisa.
Our tour guides were great. They were very patient with this group of seniors! Pick up & drop off was at the cruise terminal, very convenient.

This was a wonderful tour. The castle is beautiful as well as the gardens. Go early as it gets crowded fast. And be prepared to walk a lot. Our guide was wonderful.
What a very nice tour guide, however his ability to answer questions was limited. He provided commentary during the tour and was very attentive to us. He treated us all with respect and helped us as needed. However, when we were in Trieste - actually he didn't tour Trieste at all - I asked him one question and he said he didn't know anything about Trieste because he lived in Slovenia and we should go there and he could give us a good tour. That was very disappointing. If you are going to have someone, give a tour of someplace then that person should know about it. Also, my ticket said I would be picked up at my hotel, but the email said at a central spot. It was very confusing what was to happen and the customer support I had in reference to this was not good. I am not the only one on this tour that had this complaint.
