Ga mee op een culinair avontuur door de levendige stad Palermo tijdens een begeleide wandeltocht. Proef lokaal straatvoedsel en passeer hoogtepunten zoals Fontana delle Pretoria, Quattro Canti Square en meer! Deze tour is een must voor elke fijnproever die de stad bezoekt en omvat een bezoek aan de levendige en kleurrijke Market Capo: slenterend door de marktkraampjes leert u veel waardevolle informatie over de eettradities in Sicilië, al uw zintuigen worden overweldigd door de kleuren en de smaken, zelfs het marktgeluid zal een aangenaam geluid zijn. U proeft enkele lokale specialiteiten zoals sfincione (deeg bedekt met ui, broodkruimels, tomaat en oregano), crocché (aardappelkroketten), panelle (gefrituurd kikkererwtenmeel), arancine (rijstkroketten gevuld met vlees of boter) en een heerlijk Siciliaans dessert. Bewonder het plein - Quattro Canti in het kloppende hart van de binnenstad. Dit barokke plein op de kruising van de twee hoofdstraten van Palermo, de Via Maqueda en de Corso Vittorio Emanuele heeft niet alleen een heel bijzondere geschiedenis, maar maakt ook indruk door het unieke ontwerp van de vier bijzondere gevels.
Bewonder Fontana della Vergogna, een van de mooiste fonteinen in Italië. Het staat in de volksmond bekend als de bron van schaamte vanwege de onevenredige bedragen die zijn betaald om het te kopen, de voortdurende stijging van de kosten en de voortdurende stijging van eindeloze extra uitgaven, cijfers die door de inwoners van Palermo als "beschamend" worden beschouwd.
Bewonder het standbeeld van het genie van Palermo, dat een symbool van de stad voorstelt, dat hier in de 17e eeuw was geïnstalleerd, maar na de Siciliaanse revolutie van 1848 door het bestuur van Bourbon werd verwijderd. Na de bevrijding van Sicilië door Garibaldi in 1860, de fontein en het standbeeld, die een patriottisch symbool waren geworden, werden herenigd en het plein kreeg een nieuwe naam. Nu is Piazza Rivoluzione klein. pittoresk plein omgeven door bars en restaurants.

Alessandra was a fantastic and passionate guide who thought us about food and people in Palermo! Great food and lovely stories!
A small, narrow side street with street food on both sides - it's hard to decide. Here, a whole swordfish was being filleted, and right next to it, there were fresh fruits and desserts. In between, there were small tables, plenty of tourists, and moped riders. Pure life and enjoyment.
Loads of good quality local food!
My family and I enjoyed the Sicilian Street Food Tour. Our tour guide Ciara was friendly and knowledgeable. She took us through Palermo where we had an opportunity to get our first history lesson on Sicily along with incredible food. We were the only travelers who actually enjoyed the spleen sandwiches. Don’t be shy…try them you will be pleasantly surprised. We made a special stop to explore a secret garden at Saint Catherine of Sienna’s church and saw the fountains of shame. lol. There was a bakery at this church which was supposed to have the best cannolis in Sicily. The line was too long to wait but other travelers we met said they were indeed that good. Ciara made sure we all enjoyed the experience and kept us entertained and educated as she shared her city’s experiences with the Mafia. I was still suffering jet lag so I can’t remember the names of all the dishes but they were all delicious and very much a part of Sicilian life. Great experience that my whole family enjoyed.
Great tour, lots of food, fun and churches! Ling enough to see lots if palermo without having too much walking. We went as a couple joined by another 3 which was enough to converse as a group and split off and leanr from the guide as we walked. Reccomend
What a great way to get to know the city of Palermo. I landed in the afternoon and decided that a food tour was a way for a solo traveler to have dinner, meet fellow explorers and safely navigate a new city at night. Our guide was personable and knowledgeable about small local restaurants and the history of her city. Our group was a mix of people from far and wide and ready to try anything. Definitely would recommend booking.
We met Alessandra at a very busy Quattro Canti on Valentines Day evening and set off on our tour. Alessandra combined the history of Sicily with their street food, and it was very interesting. She clearly had a good relationship with all of the places we visited, and the food was very good. It was especially nice that we didn’t stay on the touristy streets, but ventured further away. We very much enjoyed our tour, and Alessandra’s friendly approach to leading.
The street food walking tour is well worth doing. You get to see important landmarks and hear about the history of Palermo and taste excellent food along the way. Our guide Silvia was excellent and great company too giving us some great tips of things to do in Palermo.
