De Palccoyo Rainbow Mountain in de Peruaanse Andes biedt een alternatieve ervaring voor de bekendere Vinicunca Rainbow Mountain. Een van de opvallende kenmerken van Palccoyo is dat het minder bezocht wordt door toeristen, wat resulteert in een rustigere en ongehaaste sfeer voor bezoekers. Dit staat in contrast met de vaak drukke paden van Vinicunca. Bovendien is de tocht naar Palccoyo korter en wordt over het algemeen als gemakkelijker beschouwd, geschikt voor degenen die misschien geen inspannende wandeling willen, maar toch de schoonheid van de natuurlijke regenboogbergen willen ervaren. We halen u op bij uw hotel in Cusco. Als u niet in hotels in het centrum van Cusco verblijft, halen wij u op vanaf Plaza de Armas
Het is twee en een half uur rijden vanaf Cusco. Eenmaal in Checacupe hebben we wat tijd om onze benen te strekken en toiletten te gebruiken voordat we de Palccoyo-gemeenschap binnengaan, de thuisbasis van de Rainbow Mountain.
Het is anderhalf uur rijden naar Palccoyo. Je hebt tijd om van de uitzichten te genieten en tijd om met de lokale bevolking te communiceren en inzicht te krijgen in hun leven. Zodra we Palccoyo bereiken, zal onze gids je gedetailleerde instructies geven over de prominente plaats van de berg in de mythologie van de Andes, terwijl je geniet van het ongerepte uitzicht.
Na de tour brengen we je terug naar Checacupe. Hier stoppen we bij een lokaal restaurant voor de lunch.
We beginnen aan een drie uur durende rit terug naar Cusco. We zetten je af op Plaza Regocijo, een blok verwijderd van het belangrijkste plein van Cusco.

Excellent Service, Very attentive sandro guide along the route, very rich breakfast buffet lunch, one of my best trips
It was a perfect visit, from breakfast, climbing the mountain, lunch and until we were dropped off at the hotel. From the transfer to the mountain you can see very beautiful landscapes, once you leave us at the foot of the mountain the adventure begins. That day we got snow and increased the experience, the guides always kept an eye on us, supported us and did not leave us alone at any time. They gave us the explanation of why mountains have that color. The scenery was magical. It must be mentioned that all the time the guides are taking care of you, they accompany you and do not leave you behind.
Brian is a very attentive and patient guide all throughout our tour. He provided valuable insight and ensured we were all prepared before we commenced our two-hour hike. He helped with our photos and videos. The views are amazing and the experience unforgettable.

Pros: Karen, the tour provider, was fantastic and very responsive with chats. The tour guide was friendly and good at taking pictures It's better option than Rainbow mountain because it's less crowded Cons: The breakfast and lunch were terrible. They limit only 1 a quarter size of egg for breakfast. The lunch was barely edible. It's a bit long to get there. Altitude sickness: Please be aware and bring your oxygen.
Magical and majestic scenery. This was a far superior option to Vinicunca. Palccoyo Mountain had breathtaking views and covered more mountains to see. Jose was phenomenal and checked in on everyone and gave great tips for the tour. Rafael the driver was a master of the complex roads. Lunch buffet was spectacular and hit the spot after a long day. Highly recommend this tour company.

No hassle. The trip went smooth. Tour guides were excellent, they make sure we were all having a good time and took good care of us.
The driver drove very fast and recklessly to get there. After some reflection, he corrected his conduct on the way back. Our violetta guide was great. Visit not to be missed. Allow 10 more soils to make the must-see red valley
We must be clear from the outset for safety and health reasons. This visit is not for everyone, no matter what people think. Do not give credit to Instagram photos and other selfies that make this hike look easy. Quite the opposite. THIS IS A HIGH MOUNTAIN HIKE! 5036 meters of altitude!!! Oxygen is lacking. You need very good physical condition and cardiovascular training before doing this activity. A hiking outfit with good hiking boots are ESSENTIAL! Drink water regularly during the ascent. People overweight, children and people not athletic or too untrained abstain. There is no longer a count of the number of people who feel uncomfortable during this climb or who are forced to use oxygen cylinders. These people put other hikers at risk because they stop in the middle of the trail or run into us! Beautiful mountain that experienced hikers will clearly appreciate.
