...Het Fort van Bender, gelegen in de regio Transnistrië, heeft een rijke en oude geschiedenis. Zijn oorsprong kan worden teruggevoerd naar de middeleeuwse tijd toen het diende als een belangrijk punt van verdediging en handel. In de 13e eeuw breidden de Genuezen, die bekend stonden om hun maritieme bekwaamheid, hun invloed uit naar het gebied. Hun schepen bevaarden de rivier de Dnjestr vanuit de Zwarte Zee en bereikten Bender vanuit het nabijgelegen Fort van Akkerman (het huidige Bilhorod-Dnistrovskyi, Oekraïne). In de loop der eeuwen groeide het fort in strategisch belang en diende het als een kritiek bolwerk voor verschillende machten. Het was getuige van talloze veldslagen, belegeringen en politieke veranderingen, die de complexe geschiedenis van de regio weerspiegelden. Vandaag de dag staat het Fort van Bender als een monument voor zijn veelzijdige verleden en trekt het historici en bezoekers die geïntrigeerd zijn door zijn blijvende erfenis.
Militair-historisch herdenkingscomplex Het militair-historische herdenkingscomplex in de stad Bendery werd geopend op 7 oktober 2008. Het werd opgericht op de plaats van een oude militaire begraafplaats, waar de stoffelijke resten van vele soldaten van het Russische keizerlijke leger die sneuvelden in de oorlogen van de 18-20e eeuw werden begraven.
De triomfboog verscheen in Bendery aan de Ermakovstraat, bijna bij de ingang van de stad, op 7 oktober 2008, aan de vooravond van het 600-jarig bestaan van de stad.
Monument van Lenin Gelegen tegenover de Gorky Cinema, op het Lenin Komsomolplein. De figuur van de leider van het wereldproletariaat staat op een hoog voetstuk, waarop in brons geschreven staat: “Lenin”, de jaren van zijn leven – “1870 – 1924” zijn hieronder gemarkeerd.
Gorky bioscoop In de buurt van de huidige Gorky bioscoop, naast het hotel Petrograd was er een Capitol bioscoop tot het midden van de 20e eeuw. In 1954 werd begonnen met de bouw van een nieuw gebouw onder het project van de hoofdarchitect van de stad V.P. Mednek – de auteur van het masterplan van de naoorlogse ontwikkeling van Bendery.

Het Catherine Park van Tiraspol is een van de grootschalige en ambitieuze projecten die in Pridnestrovie zijn uitgevoerd namens en onder direct toezicht van PMR-president Vadim Krasnoselsky. Het belangrijkste park van de republiek werd gebouwd ter ere van Catharina de Grote. Het fort van Sredinnaya werd in 1792 aangelegd in opdracht van de keizerin, waarrond zich in de loop van de tijd de toekomstige hoofdstad van Pridnestrovie ontwikkelde

I was about to go on a winery tour in Moldova when I discovered something called the Transnistria tour. In the first place, the fact that there was an independent state called Transnistria within one nation, Moldova, was beyond Japanese sensibility. The idea is that the region of the Russian population, which wanted to remain in the Soviet Union after the collapse of the Soviet Union and Moldova became independent in 1991, is rather setting up an independent state in search of independence from Moldova. It has its own president and governmental functions, its own currency, and the effective control of the Moldovan government still does not extend. However, it was a phantom nation, with no state recognition from any UN member state, including Japan. Travel between Moldova and Transnistria seemed basically free, although there was passport control at the border point. The Japanese Ministry of Foreign Affairs has a risk level of 3 (the travel advisory), but it felt like security was not bad at all. There was even a sense of piety, as cars always pulled up in front of pedestrian crossings while walking. There were independent states like this in the South Caucasus, like Georgia and Azerbaijan (which recently collapsed?), but it's not something you can go to easily on tour. This tour of Transnistria was guided by an English-speaking guide from Transnistria, so I was able to wave around the big companies with peace of mind. (I met friends of the guide everywhere I went, so it seemed like I was going to visit the local area, which made me feel very close. lol)

The sovjet cantine and the great food was the best part of the day and if there is anything you might need during the day you will probably find it at the Green Market Center. It has everything.

It is not a cheap excursion, but if you want to know all about this country that doesn’t excist, it is worth it. My guide was Lilia. She herself was born in Transnistrië, experienced there the war between Moldova en Transnistria. She now lives in Chisinau. She knew all about the past en present of both countries. She is very kind and helpfull. Lilia will adjust the tour if you ask and takes your wishes into acount. Transnistria is e weird country. As if you travel back in time. Lenin is everywhere. But it is also a modern country. This Soviet way of life is their principle, but I have the impression that they are very well aware that it is their USP. We went to an impressive old fortress in the city of Bender, and walked through the center of the capital Tiraspol. And we had dinner in a soviet style restaurant. Lilia was our guide and driver. Thanks to her I had a very nice day.

I can highly recommend this tour! My friend and I were accompanied by two lovely young ladies that made it feel like we were on a private trip with friends and not a tour. Even if we got a lot of information about the history and monuments the highlights were to observe the daily life. Lunch at a restaurant Sovjet style, visit the market and talk to people.
