De ondergrondse grotten behoren tot de meest indrukwekkende bezienswaardigheden op het eiland Terceira. Deze tour omvat een bezoek aan de Natal-grot (lavabuis) en de Algar do Carvão (binnenkant van de vulkaan), evenals de beroemde Furnas de Enxofre (fumarolen) en het recreatiegebied Lagoa das Patas.

De eerste stop van de tour is op een geheime plaats genaamd Lagoa das Patas. Op deze plek is het mogelijk om de beek te bezoeken die afkomstig is van Serra de Sta Bárbara, de lagune te bezoeken en interactie te hebben met dieren zoals eenden en sommige vogels. Het is een recreatiegebied vol leven en natuur!
Hier bezoeken we de beroemde Gruta Natal en Lagoa do Negro. Bij deze halte heb je de mogelijkheid om door lavatunnels te lopen die door moeder natuur zijn gemaakt en Lagoa do Negro van dichtbij te zien.
Furnas do Enxofre bestaat uit een gebied met verschillende uitlaten van agressieve vulkanische gassen bij verschillende temperaturen, waarvan sommige behoorlijk hoog. Het heeft een klein voetpad waarmee u de zwavelrook van dichtbij kunt observeren.
We bezochten het binnenste van een vulkaan in het midden van het eiland Terceira! Een onvergetelijke ervaring om de rest van je leven te koesteren.

We had an amazing time with Andre. He was extremely professional, showed on time for pick up at our hotel and filled the entire experience with so many details about the island that it made the tour even more interesting. Highly recommend this tour to anyone visiting Terceira and request Andre if you can! :)
Great day seeing the islands. The botanical garden and hot springs were amazing and lunch was delicious. Hugo was very knowledgeable and had a lot of interesting history and stories to share
Wonderful half-day excursion. Seeing the inside of the volcano is a unique experience and the visit to the Natal caves and the sulfur fumaroles and lagoon were also very interesting. The 3 hours fly by and the guide, Jaime, is attentive, very knowledgeable about the Azores and the route in particular, in addition to being very friendly and a great guide. 100% recommended
I had an absolutely fantastic experience! On this tour, I was able to explore the unique caves of Terceira – an unforgettable highlight of my trip. Enjoyed this tour with Jamie during our 4th full day on Terceira. Very interesting areas of the island we had yet to see, and the information provided by Jamie made the experience that much better. Walking through the inside of a volcano was a first for me. Thank you again!

While the weather did not cooperate, we still had a fun tour of lava tube and volcano. The weather meant we skipped the fumarole, but James gave us some extra time at Quinta dos Azores - for coffee and a snack Also we had delightful stop at the duck lagoon. Very peaceful.
