Verken Omaha Beach en krijg inzicht in de rol van Amerikaanse soldaten in de Tweede Wereldoorlog tijdens deze middag D-Day landingstour vanuit Bayeux. Bezoek belangrijke bezienswaardigheden uit de Tweede Wereldoorlog, waaronder Omaha Beach en de Pointe-Du-Hoc met een Gids, en leer over de omstandigheden waarmee de Amerikaanse soldaten in de strijd werden geconfronteerd. Wandel tussen de soldatengraven op de Amerikaanse begraafplaats en hoor verhalen en anekdotes uit de slagvelden van de Tweede Wereldoorlog.

Je gids geeft je gedetailleerde informatie over de missie van de Amerikaanse Rangers en legt de fascinerende overblijfselen uit van de vele Duitse bunkers die we samen zullen zien. Je krijgt dan ongeveer 25 minuten vrije tijd om het zelf te verkennen.
De gids zal je leiden naar de ongelooflijke Amerikaanse begraafplaats en veel belangrijke feiten uitleggen over wanneer het gebouwd is, waarom het zich daar bevindt en veel verhalen over de mannen en vrouwen die hier begraven liggen. Je krijgt ongeveer 30 minuten vrije tijd om het zelf te verkennen.
Je krijgt een goed overzicht van de strandlandingen die plaatsvonden op Omaha Beach op 6 juni 1944. Daarna heb je ongeveer 15 minuten vrije tijd om door het zand te lopen (afhankelijk van getijdencondities) waar Amerikaanse troepen landen op D-Day.

- Als u met kinderen reist, houd er dan rekening mee dat iedereen een zitplaats nodig heeft. Het is een wettelijke vereiste, dus zorg ervoor dat u een zitplaats reserveert voor elke persoon die deelneemt aan de tour. Het is verboden om baby's op schoot te vervoeren. Geef tijdens het reserveren de leeftijd van het kind aan en wij zullen indien nodig een autostoeltje voor u regelen. Wij accepteren geen kinderen jonger dan 4 jaar.

Excellent tour. It was brief for those that unfortunately cannot spend more than 1/2 day. It was a 2 1/2 hour train ride from Paris and Charles had us for about 4 1/2 hours. He is an excellent guide and knows a lot of history. We are so glad we came. We got an air-conditioned van and went to Long Sur Mer (point du Hoc was closed), then we went to Omaha Beach to the American cemetery. Charles even dropped us off at the train station.

Marine was our tour guide and she was wonderful. We learned so much about D-Day and WWII and the impact on the area. The van was comfortable and we had a little time in each location to explore. I would highly recommend this if you have a half day in Bayeux.

We did this tour with Marine Cotet on Friday, May 29, 2026. We had a group of 6. Marine picked us up at Place de Quebec. We went to Pointe du Hoc, then drove along Omaha Beach to the American Cemetery, where we witnessed a double-flag lowering at 4pm. Then, we went back to Omaha Beach, Dog Sector, at the National Guard Memorial. My wife's father took part in the D-Day invasion, going ashore at Utah Beach on day 2, and fighting through the hedgerows with the 82nd Airborne. Marine knew all of this, because she had researched his unit movements based on information we provided when we booked the tour. The National Guard Memorial was important to us, because I had several friends from Bedford, VA (the Bedford Boys) while in college. Marine was an excellent guide.

Irene was a wonderful knowledgeable guide. We were also lucky that we had arrived only a few days before D Day celebrations and so many people were dressed in military uniforms , also rehearsal of paratroopers parachuting from their planes.
