Een handige en eenvoudige manier om Old San Juan te leren kennen en te verkennen is met een lokale, deskundige gids die je meeneemt op een gemakkelijke geschiedeniswandeling van 2 uur door het oudste deel van de stad. Na de tour zul je de geschiedenis achter het Gemenebest van Puerto Rico begrijpen, zijn unieke banden met de VS, evenals zijn rijke Spaanse, Taino-Indiase en West-Afrikaanse erfgoed. De tour is perfect voor alle leeftijden en verkent bezienswaardigheden zoals La Casa Estrecha en La Catedral de San Juan Bautista - de vereerde kathedraal van Old San Juan, het grootste religieuze gebouw van Puerto Rico. Daarnaast ontdek je delen van het indrukwekkende verdedigingssysteem van de stad, inclusief de muren, de enige overgebleven toegangsdeur en Fortaleza, het fort dat bekend staat als de ‘fout’ die de Spanjaarden maakten! We loved our historical walking tour of Old San Juan! Our guide, Leslie, was very knowledgeable about the history and architecture of Old San Juan, and she was also super funny and entertaining. We had such a good time learning about the buildings, the streets, the statues, and the history - Leslie even taught us about the pop culture of Puerto Rico! I would highly recommend this tour to adults or families with teenagers. Our family of 4 had a great time!

My husband and I took this 2-hour walking tour of Old San Juan, and it was a wonderful experience.
