Oud Quebec is de meest Europese stad van Noord-Amerika, en deze tour zet zijn smaken voorop. Meer dan vijf haltes door geplaveide straatjes omzoomd met 400 jaar oude architectuur, eet je je een weg door eeuwenlange Québécois eetcultuur, van rustiek comfort food tot verfijnde lokale ingrediënten. U begint met aardse Lion's Mane-champignons en carpaccio met eendenborst en warmt vervolgens op met het heilige trio van traditionele Québécois-koken : zijdezachte erwtensoep, hartige patéchinois en verse esdoorntaffy. Een 200 jaar oud huis serveert handgemaakte gnocchi baden in cheddar, room, sjalot en witte wijn met een zwarte knoflook crumble. Een zoete stop brengt je sucre à la crème en wat veel locals de beste croissant van de stad noemen. Dan sluit je af op de enige manier die zou moeten: met poutine. Op zondag en maandag wordt de gnocchi stop ingeruild voor een verwarmende haverrisotto bekroond met een rotsgarnalensalade. Groepen worden klein gehouden zodat elke halte persoonlijk aanvoelt.

De tour wordt gehouden binnen de muren van het oude Québec, de historische wijk.
Het iconische grand hotel dat de skyline van Oud Quebec domineert. Het is een symbool van de stad boven de St. Lawrence rivier, het is een van de meest gefotografeerde bezienswaardigheden in Canada en een middelpunt van de historische bovenstad.

We are so glad that we took this special tour through the city to learn about the food of the region, the history of Quebec city and get to meet some new friends. Our host, Anaise was fun, knowledgeable, and made three hours go by so quickly. She made the experience just priceless and helped us get us grounded in the area.
The food was great, we toured five different establishments giving us a taste of what Quebec City has to offer. Our tour guide, Samuel, was pleasant and very knowledgeable, I would do this again.
Trisha did a great job relaying historical info about Old Quebec. The variety of samplings were enjoyable and definitely had amole portions. We really enjoyed the tour and would recommend to others

The tour was guided and organized incredibly well. Purchasing through Viator meant that the trip included hotel transfers (in private cars) and the main activities were already included, which was great. Our guide was extremely helpful and caring. Activity tips: I enjoyed walking around Toronto on my own rather than doing the expensive optional activities (CN Tower & aquarium), but watching the fireworks from the tower at Niagara Falls was neat. I would recommend their day/night pass that allows you to go up during the daylight and again later to see the falls lit up. For lunch on the first day we stopped at a buffet that was much better than its surroundings suggested (a mostly empty strip mall). I brought a lunch with me though and saved the $36 charge. A fast food joint is the only other option.

It was a good tour. Several foods I wanted to ensure I tried while there were on the menu. Tour guide was good as well. My only suggestion would be that the history be more focused on the food as that is what the tour should be focused on. Didn’t need history lessons. We already did those tours! Also portions could have been a little bigger based on the price.
