Nuns Valley Tour
Beschrijving
Dit is een reis naar het centrum van het eiland Madeira, waar buitengewone bergen met bewolkte bergruggen op de meest spectaculaire manier afdalen naar de groene valleien. Onze excursie begint met een bezoek aan de Mirador do Pico dos Barcelos (vanaf deze plek is het mogelijk om een panoramisch uitzicht over de baai en de stad Funchal te overwegen). Vervolgens gaan we naar Eira do Serrado, een uitkijkpunt op 1094 meter boven de parochie van Curral das Freiras. Toen gingen we naar het kleine dorpje Curral das Freiras. De enorme ketel waarin de Curral das Freiras zich bevindt, werd gevormd door erosie, wat de nieuwste theorie is, of, zoals velen nog steeds geloven, door vulkanische activiteit. Het dorp is erg geïsoleerd en de inwoners leven voornamelijk van wat ze verbouwen. De lokale kastanjes zijn heerlijk en worden gebruikt in de dagelijkse keuken. Elk jaar vieren de inwoners het 'Chestnut Festival', waarvoor het dorp beroemd is.

Nuns Valley, de reis naar het centrum van het eiland neemt ons mee naar de Vallei van de Nonnen; Curral das Freiras die mystiek wordt overschaduwd door prachtige bergen met pieken bedekt door de lagen witte wolken.
Het uitkijkpunt Eira do Serrado is niet alleen fantastisch vanwege het prachtige uitzicht, maar ook door de rust en de bijna ongerepte en wilde natuur. Hier kunt u het pittoreske dorpje Curral das Freiras zien.
Gezichtspunt van Barcelos Peak. Het beroemde uitkijkpunt, met een prachtig uitzicht op Funchal, op weg naar een van de mooiste uitkijkpunten.

BELANGRIJKE MEDEDELING BETREFFENDE OPHALEN EN VERVOER Houd er rekening mee dat ophaalservice beschikbaar is in het centrum van Funchal en in het gebied rondom de belangrijkste toeristenhotels. Sommige gebieden, waaronder voetgangerszones, historische straten in Funchal en locaties met beperkte toegang voor het type vervoer dat wij gebruiken, zijn mogelijk niet geschikt voor directe ophaalservice. Als uw accommodatie zich buiten ons ophaalgebied of in een zone met beperkte toegang bevindt, verzoeken wij u ons uw volledige adres door te geven, zodat we u naar het dichtstbijzijnde beschikbare ontmoetingspunt in Funchal kunnen verwijzen. Onze activiteiten worden doorgaans in groepen van ongeveer 16 deelnemers uitgevoerd. Tijdens drukke periodes kan het type vervoer echter worden aangepast en het aantal deelnemers per groep worden verhoogd, afhankelijk van de beschikbaarheid en logistieke vereisten.

Very enjoyable and informative visit to a beautiful part of Madeira. the small group size (8 of us in total) was just right, and we had ample time for stops to explore. Our guide, Jose, was friendly, knowledgeable and very accommodating, even dropping us back to a more convenient spot at the end.

Really enjoyed this trip with Sergio. He made the tour fun and informative. Nun’s valley was stunning and Sergio understood the cloud & weather to determine timings to make the most of the viewpoints. Highly recommend.

The trip was entertaining. We had good luck with the weather and thus a breathtaking view of the Nonnental. The tour group was not too big, our driver and guide Sergio very entertaining!

Fab little tour of a gorgeous part of the island. Worth it for the views at the first stop alone. We also stopped at a lovely little cafe at the second stop and indulged in some chestnut treats, including cake and liqueur. Our guide was very friendly and informative. All in all, a great way to spend an afternoon.

Very beautiful views up high. The drive up was scenic with lots of nature and woodlands. Plenty of time to walk or have a coffee at the places we stopped at. Take warm clothes!! I did the tour with Feeling Madeira and they were fantastic!

Very informative guide who drove very safely and interesting stops along the way. Can be cold in the hills but we were there at the start of Storm Regina so maybe not typical.

Beautiful visit to Nuns valley, this tour was great and showed a very calm part of the island away from Funchal, our guide was great and looked after us all, unfortunately two of the people who where on the tour where very late to meet us but our guide didn't hurry us at any of the viewpoints we went to so we could fully enjoy our tour, I apologise as I cannot remember my guides name but he was a fab driver and looked after us well ensuring we knew what we could see in each place we visited.
