Vertrek vanuit Kyoto
Ontmoet je gids op het ontmoetingspunt en stap aan boord van de sneltrein naar Nara om het avontuur van de dag te beginnen. Passeer het Gyoki-standbeeld
Van daaruit ga je naar Nara Park, waar je de vriendelijke, vrij rondlopende Sika-herten ziet, die in de Shinto-religie worden beschouwd als heilige boodschappers van de goden. Geniet van de uitgestrekte, open ruimtes en het weelderige groen, en maak een paar foto's met de herten (beschouwd als het symbool van Nara), voordat je naar Todaiji gaat.
Dit UNESCO-werelderfgoed staat majestueus in het park en herbergt de ontzagwekkende Grote Boeddha (Daibutsu), een van de grootste bronzen Boeddhabeelden in Japan. Het volgende is een traditionele lunch in Kotoya Restaurant, waar u kunt genieten van enkele lokale Nara-specialiteiten voordat u naar het Kasuga Taisha-heiligdom gaat.
Neem het pittoreske heiligdom in u op, versierd met duizenden hangende lantaarns, voordat u een wandeling maakt in Naramachi en een glimp opvangt van de smalle straatjes met goed bewaarde traditionele koopmanshuizen die de essentie van de Edo-periode samenvatten.

The tour to Nara was an amazing experience. We were able to enjoy each place calmly and learn a lot about the local history and culture. Really enjoyed our tour with Katsuhiko Ishida. He was very knowledgeable of the area and had a command of the English language like a native speaker. He made the experience so interesting and fun and Nara is a real enjoyable place with the friendly deer.

Nara is the must-see city in Japan. Just a short train ride from Kyoto or Osaka. The deer are so charming and friendly. Feeding them is a blast. Temple and Shrine are off the charts beautiful. Don’t forget to eat Mochi. Our guide Yochee is a Nara native and brings a lot of intimate flavor to the experience.
