Marienplatz: Het hart van München. Hier, in de bruisende puls van de stad, staat Marienplatz. Dit historische plein is al eeuwenlang het centrale middelpunt van München, beroemd om zijn prachtige Nieuwe Stadhuis met het iconische Glockenspiel en de levendige sfeer. Het is het perfecte startpunt voor onze verkenning van deze ongelooflijke stad! We hebben hier onze korte intro voordat we aan de fietstocht beginnen.
We doen hier een korte stop voor onze gasten om water en poncho's te kopen en laten u weten waar we zijn in het geval u fietsen wilt huren na uw tour.
De Platzl: Thuisbasis van de hartslag van München. Dit charmante, historische plein is in wezen de geboorteplaats van de legendarische biercultuur van München! Het is de beroemde thuisbasis van het wereldberoemde Hofbräuhaus, en de geplaveide straten zijn bekleed met traditionele Beierse gebouwen. De Platzl vangt perfect de essentie van het oude München, waardoor het een levendige en authentieke stop.e
We stoppen hier om gasten te vertellen over de Beierse Staatskanselarij en de Hofgarten.
De Residenz, een prachtig gebouwencomplex in München, was ooit het koninklijk paleis van de Wittelsbachse vorsten van Beieren. Dit uitgestrekte paleis herbergt meer dan 130 kamers, waaronder het prachtige Cuvilliés Theater en de historische Herculeszaal. De Residenz is een bewijs van de Beierse geschiedenis en architectonische pracht en biedt bezoekers een kijkje in de weelderige levensstijl van de koninklijke familie. We rijden door de binnenplaatsen maar gaan niet naar binnen. Dit kunt u na de rondleiding op uw eigen gemak doen. Toelating is dan van toepassing.
Hier leggen we de geschiedenis van de familie Wittelsbach uit en hun rol bij het op de kaart zetten van München.
We stoppen hier een tijdje om de geschiedenis uit te leggen die hier gedurende vele eeuwen heeft plaatsgevonden en geven onze gasten ook de gelegenheid om de St. Kajetan-kerk van binnenuit te zien.
De beste manier om het op één na grootste stadspark ter wereld te zien, is met de fiets. Zie waarom de lokale bevolking van dit park vol verrassingen houdt.
We stoppen voor een traditionele lunch onder de Chinese Toren. Dit is een selfservice food court die ook vegetarische opties heeft, zodat iedereen kan eten wat hij wil. De prijs van lunich is niet inbegrepen in de tourprijs.
We doen een mooie rit langs de Isar - de reden waarom veel van de lokale bevolking hier wonen als dit is onze "Beach" in de zomer.
We stoppen hier aan de andere kant van de rivier de Isar voordat we langs de rivier verder gaan naar de volgende halte.
We eindigen onze tour dicht bij deze S-Bahn-halte.
Het Maximilianeum, een groot neorenaissancegebouw, werd in 1857 in opdracht van koning Maximiliaan II van Beieren gebouwd. Het werd ontworpen door Friedrich Bürklein en diende aanvankelijk als onderwijsinstelling voor hoogbegaafde studenten. Het Maximilianeum ligt aan de oevers van de rivier de Isar en is een markant oriëntatiepunt aan de Maximilianstrasse, een gerenommeerde boulevard met neogotische paleizen. We stoppen hier voor een snelle fotosessie. Hoewel de bouw vertraging opliep, werd het gebouw uiteindelijk voltooid in 1874 en heeft sindsdien renovaties ondergaan, vooral na de Tweede Wereldoorlog.

Bike ride was awesome. Especially our guide Bob. He was so knowledgeable about not only Munich and it’s history but how it relates to ancient history. Also explained history of its culture and religion. Very moderate to easy in terms of biking. Lots of stops to points of interest and of course the Beirgarten was the perfect stop toward the end.

We did the cycling tour of Munich on a day that it was really hot weather. We were in a group of 12 and our guide Scott was great at trying to keep us in the shade, whilst he told us the history of the different buildings and landmarks. He was very knowledgeable and friendly. We really enjoyed it, the bikes were well maintained and we were offered helmets to wear.

Nice route, also doable for 2 children in our group, from around 10 years. Our guide told us a lot and we cycled past interesting places in and around the city. And for a large part through the park where no cars came, that was relaxed cycling. And also had a nice lunch.
