In het hart van het Zuidereiland heeft Nieuw-Zeeland zijn hoogste top, de Aoraki Mount Cook, ook wel bekend als de 'Cloud Piercer'. Genesteld tussen de Zuidelijke Alpen, boven een klein bergstadje waar onze langste gletsjer en vele beroemde wandelpaden te vinden zijn. Begin aan een eendaagse tour met kleine groepen naar Mount Cook. Je vertrekt vanuit Queenstown en ervaart het unieke berglandschap van de Zuidelijke Alpen terwijl je naar Mackenzie Country en Aoraki Mount Cook National Park reist. Geniet van vrije tijd in Mt Cook Village, waar u ervoor kunt kiezen om het ongelooflijke landschap te verkennen, tijdens een lokale korte wandeling, een rondvlucht of een ontspannen middag in het dorp.

Na het verlaten van Queenstown is onze eerste iconische stop Cromwell, 'Fruit Bowl of the South', en zijn grote fruitsculpturen. Cromwell is het centrum van Central Otago, het beroemde wijngebied voor Pinot Noir.
Tijdens de rit naar Mount Cook reizen we door de dramatische Lindis Pass. Bewonder het spectaculaire hooglandlandschap terwijl we vanuit Central Otago het Mackenzie Basin binnengaan.
We maken een korte stop in het schilderachtige dorpje Omarama, waar je de mogelijkheid hebt om een snack of eten mee te nemen voor de lunch in Mt Cook. Vanaf hier gaan we langs de Twizel-kanalen, richting het helderblauwe water van Lake Pukaki.
Voordat we Mount Cook Village binnengaan, stoppen we langs de oevers van Lake Pukaki, het grootste meer in het gebied, trots pronkend met de hoogste berg van Nieuw-Zeeland, Aoraki/Mount Cook.
Welkom in Mount Cook Village. Hier heb je wat vrije tijd om te genieten van deze dramatische locatie. Maak een wandeling naar Lake Mueller voor een close-up van de gletsjers van Mt Sefton, wandel over de Hooker Valley Track of grijp de kans om een van de ongelooflijke activiteiten te ervaren die Mt Cook te bieden heeft.
We beginnen dan aan de reis terug naar Queenstown. Na een drukke dag met het bekijken van bezienswaardigheden, grijp je de kans om te ontspannen en te genieten van het ongelooflijke landschap. We geven je de kans om je benen te strekken tijdens de reis en keren om ongeveer 19.30 uur terug naar Queenstown.

Ophaallocaties en -tijden
Houd er rekening mee dat de door u geselecteerde ophaallocatie mogelijk niet exact is; wij halen het op of nabij de door u gewenste locatie. Nadat u heeft geboekt, neemt ons team contact met u op om de exacte gegevens van de ophaallocatie door te geven. Als u niet zeker weet wat het beste ophaalpunt is, neem dan contact op met de activiteitenaanbieder van uw accommodatie. Wij zullen u dan adviseren over de meest geschikte ophaallocatie. De vertrektijd van 07.30 uur geldt voor de ophaaldienst in het centrum van Queenstown, maar de tijden kunnen variëren tussen 07.00 uur en 08.00 uur, afhankelijk van uw locatie. Houd rekening met het tijdstip waarop ons team opnieuw met u bevestigt en zorg dat u 10 minuten vóór uw vertrektijd op de ophaallocatie aanwezig bent. Onze gids wacht maximaal 5 minuten na uw vertrektijd. Eventuele late aankomsten die de tour missen, hebben geen recht op restitutie.

- Mount Cook is een alpine omgeving en het is belangrijk om warme kleding, een regenjas en comfortabele schoenen mee te nemen om te wandelen.
- De Hooker Valley Trek is een DOC-wandelpad (Department of Conservation), en we raden alleen mensen met een gemiddelde conditie aan om het hele parcours te voltooien (afhankelijk van het weer). We hebben een strikte vertrektijd vanuit Mt Cook Village en alle wandelaars moeten tegen die tijd terug zijn.

The trip was amazing and contained a few highlights, including the hooker valley trek and a paid upgrade option to experience alpine snow landing. Everything was smoothly organised and run by the tour operators (altitude) and our guide for the day, Sinchan, was amazing, helpful and super knowledgeable.

Tour to Mount Cook was fantastic. Lovely sunny day meant beautiful views both along the way and at Mount Cook. Walked to Hooker Trail for more great views. James and Nicole were great- friendly and informative. Altitude tours ran everything well from great communication before tour, pickup on time and comfy van. Will tour with them again!!.

We absolutely loved our Mount Cook day trip with Stuart and Caleb! We got lucky with a beautifully clear day and our time at Mount Cook and the Hooker Valley Track walk and Alpine Center lunch was perfect. Our guides had entertaining and informational commentary and we enjoyed getting to chat with them and learning more about the area. We even had time for a few fun stops on the way and got to see more of the landscape. We would 100% book with Altitude again!

Our first tour going to Mt. Cook was full of knowledge, smiles and laughter even when we were still in the van. SinChan deserves a pay rise, promotion and an award. He is such a passionate tour guide. His vibe is just amazing. We had a number of tour guides before but this man is just outstanding in all aspects. Absolutely incredible day tour from Queenstown to Mount Cook National Park. Sinchan was our driver and tour guide and would absolutely recommend him. He was energetic, fun and very knowledgeable! The drive itself was beautiful as was Mount Cook National Park. As per Sinchan’s recommendation we did a 25 minute helicopter ride which was an experience I recommend for all! Landing ontop of a mountain and looking down at a glacier was incredible! Definitely the highlight of the trip

We had such an amazing time to Mt Cook yesterday. We made multiple stops along the way with the most stunning views. We were also lucky enough to do a 25minute helicopter ride which was such a bucket list moment. Did the tour to Mt Cook and option of 25 min yesterday 24 April. Tour guide Chelsea was very knowledgeable and ensured we all had a great time. Even stopped to get an awesome sunset photo on the way back to Queenstown. Recommend the Heli ride ! Bonkaz!

Allegra was a great tour guide- a literal Unicorn! My 19 year old son and I had a great time on the very nice van up to Mount Cook. We got some amazing pictures, good food, and a seamless helicopter ride! I would totally do it again!
