Een Via Ferrata, wat 'iron way' betekent in het Italiaans, is een methode van bergbeklimmen en rotsklimmen die al eeuwen in Europa wordt gebruikt. Via Ferrata-cursussen gebruiken een combinatie van ladders, sporten, rails, kabels en bruggen om te helpen bij het oversteken van een klif. De Iron Way in Idaho Springs is een begeleide wandeling langs rotsklimmen, waarbij gasten zich vastklampen aan kabels die langs de rand van een klif lopen. Vervolgens verplaatsen ze zich langs een aangewezen pad met ijzeren treden en bruggen om over te steken, en langs de weg die ze nodig hebben om in en uit de kabel te klikken om door de cursus te gaan. Dit wordt mogelijk gemaakt door een geavanceerd intern sluitsysteem in de karabijnhaken. Elke gast heeft 2 karabijnhaken aangesloten op bungee-achtige vanglijnen op hun harnas. Het interne vergrendelingssysteem maakt het onmogelijk om beide tegelijk uit te knippen, en ervoor te zorgen dat klimmers te allen tijde met de kabel van de baan zijn verbonden.

Scary but exhilarating! There was some bad weather that came up while we were out there so 2 of us didn’t get to do 2 things along the course but overall it was a great experience.

Great experience with friendly hosts/guides! They even called us to make sure we were close when we werent there 15 min early. We were stuck in traffic and were afraid that we weren't going to make our time, but they worked with us!! My only complaint would be the location it is not optimal. But that's mainly due to the construction and proximity to the highway, but very cool time!

This was a fun activity. We have done rock climbing and zip lining before but the via ferrata was a great mix and a new adventure. Our guides, Hunter and Jon, were knowledgeable and experienced. Our whole family had a great time.

Fun and challenging would best describe this adventure. The only reason this works for non climber is the guides. We had the two best guides who were knowledgeable and friendly. They make sure you are safe and having fun the entire climb. We did the starlight climb which was Awesome. I recommend wearing something that has a zipper so you can bring your phone to capture this experience. It was wonderful. I will be back!
This trip was thrilling all around. Our guides, Xavier and Lilly, were both terrific. Their knowledge and leadership made the day special for everyone in our group. I can not wait to be back with AVA in the future!
This was a great introduction to many things to do outdoors in Colorado in the summer. It had some rock climbing-like experience, walking on wire suspension bridges, repelling, and zip lines. Xavier and Otter were fantastic guides and we all had a great time. I highly recommend AVA Via Ferrata Climbing to anyone that can.
This was a diverse and entertaining three hour adventure! Highly recommended! Gus and Max kept us all safe and entertained :)
Our guides on the Via Ferrata Max and Simon were fantastic! Very entertaining and very knowledgeable. We were in good hands with them guiding us. It really pushed us out of our comfort zones in a safe way. Our guides even took our pictures and sent them to us after the experience. I would definitely recommend this if you have ever wanted to try rock climbing or a high ropes course.
