Het magische eiland Bali is niet alleen een ontspannend tropisch paradijs, maar biedt ook een kans voor een unieke wandelervaring. Geniet van deze trektocht van 8-10 uur (afhankelijk van de ligging van uw hotel) met een kleine groep naar Gunung Batur. Onder begeleiding van ervaren lokale gidsen krijgt u de kans om naar de top van deze actieve vulkaan te klimmen en naar de zonsopgang te kijken voordat u gaat ontbijten.

U wordt 's ochtends vroeg opgehaald bij uw Kuta- of Ubud-hotel, en u reist u per auto met airconditioning naar de voet van Gunung Batur. Bij aankomst beklimt u de vulkaan in het donker, met gebruik van zaklampen om de weg te wijzen, en kunt u de omgeving verlicht door maanlicht bewonderen. U arriveert op de top na wandelen en klimmen naar het hoogste uitkijkpunt van waaruit u de zonsopgang over Bali kunt bekijken, een waardige beloning voor uw inspanningen. Terwijl de zon opkomt geniet u van een heerlijk ontbijt op de bergtop en kijkt u uit over de lavavelden en glinsterende meren in het dal.
We rijden verder zonder te stoppen, langs de weg zien we het landschap.
Vanaf de top van de berg Butung Batur zien we het Baturmeer.
Op de terugweg stopt u voor een tour door een Balinese koffieplantage voordat u weer wordt afgezet bij uw hotel.

Our driver Edy was fantastic! Could not recommend him enough! The tour was also great, amazing views!
This hike is aggressive but well worth it if you're up for the effort. You can have options to get on a motorbike halfway up. Our guide was sweet and worked hard all am to ensure we were feeling good, Our driver from the hotel(Made) was also super informative on the way and we enjoyed the stories and facts about Bali. Wonderful way to start our trip!
We had a really great experience with the sunrise tour. Our guide Tari was super sweet, made sure we had enough breaks and took us on a cool hidden path. The tour was perfectly arranged, our driver Edy arrived on time and dropped us off safely back in the villa.
Beautiful hike, we had a really nice guide, we can definitely recommend. It's not that steep, moderate hike, takes 90mins to the summit with multiple breaks. Way down is more sleepers thanks to small rocks, took around 60mins.
I suggest not to book via Trip Advisor/Viator. The tour operator had blocked the day due to the weather forecast but the TripAdvisor site still allowed me to make a booking that was then confirmed by TripAdvisor. The tour did not proceed and I later received an apology and refund from the tour operator who was genuinely remorseful about the glitch. Try to book directly with the tour operator whose communication was very good when they became aware of the problem.
Wali was a very kind and fun guide. He clearly cares about your wellbeing too when doing the hike. Not only that, he would offer to carry your stuff whilst he's already carrying your breakfast! As a bonus: he takes amazing creative photos of you. Thank you Wali for your hard work and fun company.
Good experience and a fun climb. Local guide was quick and helpful in finding a relatively quiet route most of the way up (crowds are unavoidable). Great communication for pick up and a nice simple breakfast at the summit.

Hiking Mount Batur for sunrise was one of the highlights of our Bali trip. The early wake-up call was definitely worth it the moment we reached the summit. Our guide was fantastic , friendly, patient, and very knowledgeable. He helped set the perfect pace for everyone and pointed out great photo spots along the trek. Highly recommended to anyone visiting Bali, Mount Batur sunrise should be on your bucket list.
I had an incredible experience hiking Mount Batur for the sunrise. The trek was challenging but extremely rewarding, with breathtaking views as the sun rose. Our driver, Dede, was fantastic—punctual, friendly, and made the journey comfortable. Additionally, our instructor was excellent, guiding us safely and sharing insightful information throughout the hike. I highly recommend both the hike and requesting Dede and the instructor!
