Tijdens deze tour wisselen verschillende landschappen elkaar af, waardoor de reis aangenamer wordt. De beste voorproefje van wat u in Mostar te wachten staat, is een bezoek aan Počitelj, de kleine nederzetting op de linkeroever van de rivier de Neretva, 30 km van Mostar. Tegenwoordig lijkt het meer op een stadsmuseum, maar in de afgelopen eeuwen was het een belangrijk cultureel centrum. De verdedigingsmuur en torens zijn, ook al zijn ze gedeeltelijk bewaard gebleven, nog steeds erg indrukwekkend en de moeite waard om te verkennen. Na de pauze in Počitelj is Mostar de volgende stop. In Mostar waan je je in het exotische Oosten, maar dat is niets vreemds als je bedenkt dat Mostar eeuwenlang onder Turkse overheersing stond. Het staat ook bekend als een plaats waar Oost en West elkaar ontmoeten. De ervaring van Mostar zal niet compleet zijn zonder een traditionele maaltijd in een van de lokale restaurants. De laatste stop op onze tour zijn de prachtige Kravica-watervallen, de zogenaamde ‘Oase in de steen’, en wordt door de staat beschermd als een natuurlijke zeldzaamheid.

Rijd de Adriatische kust op nadat u bent opgehaald bij uw hotel. Ga richting het binnenland door de pittoreske rivierdelta van de Neretva tot aan Pocitelj. De vestingstad Pocitelj is een goed bewaard voorbeeld van oosterse architectuur, gelegen op de heuvel boven de rivier.
Door de eeuwen heen waren Mostar en de regio de ontmoetingsplaats van de culturen en religies die vandaag de dag duidelijk zichtbare sporen achterlieten. Mostar is vernoemd naar brugwachters (Mostari) die de oude brug over de rivier de Neretva bewaakten.
De Kravica-watervallen zijn een van de mooiste natuurgebieden in de Herzegovina regio van Bosnië en Herzegovina. Er zijn ook de extra attracties van kamperen, zwemmen en een klein café waar mensen gewoon kunnen zitten, kletsen en genieten van de algemene schoonheid van de plaats.

Ivo was extremely kind and a wonderful driver. We had a few people in our party with mobility issues, and he was extremely attentive making sure everyone was taken care of. Mostar was lovely, although be sure to bring cash (Euros are fine) as most shops and restaurants do not accept cards in Mostar.

Niko was a perfect driver. He speaks excellent English. He drives late model well maintained car. He knows all the border crossings and found one with no delay. This can be a big issue if you get stuck behind tour buses. Niko was very knowledgeable about the history of the region , and although he is not a guide, he prepared us well for what we would see in Mostar and also gave us a good recommendation for a restaurant for lunch. Al in all a very enjoyable day!

We had an amazing day trip from Dubrovnik to Bosnia, visiting Mostar and the stunning Kravica waterfalls. The journey was smooth and well-organized from start to finish. At the suggestion of our hotel we used this service for a day trip to Mostar and Medjugorje! Our driver Dennis was fantastic!!! He was a wealth of knowledge regarding Croatia and the sharing of his life experiences from the war made the trip even more special! He made both stops easy on us and was very flexible. After Mostar he took us for lunch to a winery in Bosnia that was excellent!!! This company also arranged a private local guide for us in Mostar and he did a great job as well.
We had fun - Mostar tour was great, local guide (Mirna) was terrific - our driver/guide Denis was very personable - one suggestion, go to waterfalls first because crowds were bad in the afternoon
I booked this trip for my mother in law to be able to go back to the town where her grandfather came from. I will be honest and say I was nervous about the trip. I was nervous if that region was safe, if I had chosen a reputable company, what would the border crossing be like, and whether or not we can make it back to our cruise ship in time. From the moment we booked, the communition with Niko was great. He always responded in a timely manner and answered all of our questions. Our driver, Denis, put us all of my worries at ease the moment we met him. He was an extremely kind person with a wealth of knowledge on his country. You can tell he loved his country and was very proud of it. He has an interesting story and we enjoyed hearing so much from him. He even made sure to include our teen and young adult child in the conversations and helped to keep everyone engaged. Plus the car we got picked up in was very clean and had great air conditioning! Denis got us to Mostar and passed us off to Dino, a Mostar guide. Dino was extremely knowledgeable and provided a wealth of information to us about Mostar. He was great! Dino took us to the restaurant that Denis booked for us for lunch. It was amazing. We had a view of the Mostar bridge and even got to witness some jumpers. It was beautiful and the food was delicious! The restaurant was called Urban. I never once felt unsafe. Denis did an excellent job of getting us across the borders and most importantly he got us back to the ship with a minute to spare! We were the last ones to the ship and laughed about it but thanks to Denis amd Dino we had an amazing time! I highly recommend this tour and these guides. These were some of the nicest people we met on our travels that went above and beyond to make sure we had the experience we came for.
