Ervaar op deze privé dagtour vanuit Dubrovnik de schoonheid en geschiedenis van de stad Montenegro die steeds meer toeristen trekt. U reist met een privégids die u langs de spectaculaire kust van Kroatië voert en u een heel eind Montenegro in brengt. Hij volgt daarbij de prachtige baai van Kotor die op de Werelderfgoedlijst van UNESCO staat. Bezoek de goed bewaarde, middeleeuwse ommuurde stad Kotor die ingeklemd ligt tussen de baai en bergen, en stop hier voor de lunch (op eigen kosten) voordat u de stad verder gaat verkennen of naar de nabijgelegen prachtige Venetiaanse stad Perast gaat, waarna u weer terugkeert naar Dubrovnik. Uw gids begeleidt u tijdens uw privétour.

Begin je tour met een pick-up van je hotel in het centrum van Dubrovnik. Stap aan boord van uw privévoertuig met airconditioning en bewonder de kustlijn van Kroatië op weg naar Montenegro. Aangezien dit een privétour is, kun je tijdens je tour je gids vragen stellen.
Na ongeveer een uur steekt u Montenegro over. Volg de adembenemende, met bergen omzoomde baai van Kotor (Boka Kotorska) en kom aan in Kotor, de prachtige ommuurde stad aan het hoofd. Bij aankomst kunt u zelfstandig op verkenning gaan. Ga vervolgens naar binnen via een poort in de 9e-eeuwse muren en ontdek de prachtige Venetiaanse straatjes en pleinen met stenen kerken en herenhuizen. Als je rondkijkt, moet je zeker een bezoek brengen aan het paradepaardje van de stad, de Sint-Tryphonkathedraal. Deze kerk met twee torens dateert uit de 12e eeuw en heeft een zilveren altaarscherm en de overblijfselen van St. Tryphon, de patroonheilige van Kotor. Pauzeer voor de lunch (op eigen kosten) in een restaurant, en als je wilt, kun je ervoor kiezen om meer tijd in Kotor door te brengen, of vraag je gids om je naar het nabijgelegen Perast te rijden, ook aan de baai.
Verken dit kleine Venetiaanse juweeltje en breng hier vrije tijd door, misschien genietend van het prachtige uitzicht over het eilandklooster van St. George. Overweeg om een optionele boottocht te maken naar het kunstmatige eiland Our Lady of the Rocks.

Bus driver, bus and Montenegro tour was great, however Niko as a tour guide needs some extensive training on communication and professionalism. He talks too much, repeated the same mundane stuff many times ( where to stand at the security post, not to blink your eyes, etc) . Our entire group felt as if we are 8-10 year olds going on a school trip with a teacher or chaperone.. Moreover, he 'forced' most of us to lunch at the designated place which was entirely optional. When we didn't want to, he showed some attitude - you can't do that just to get commissions from the restaurant. He also didn't return us the extra money we paid for the tourist tax right away when he had the exact change from other passengers. Even when we reached the 2nd stop as part of the tour, he didn't communicate to the entire group that the ferry to the island will cost extra. Anna, on the other hand on our Bosnia tour, was fantastic. I would not use the same tour if Niko happens to be the tour guide. I got a headache from listening to his incessant talking every few minutes about redundant things. He also didn't have a good sense of humor to make the tour lively or shared much important information about the different cities we visited..
Restaurant (Pepe Nero) recommended by driver cum guide at Kotor was really good and perfect. The homemade apple pie is must eat item.

I was thoroughly impressed with Dejan (Driver/Guide) as well as Montenegro! Dejan made a spot on recommendation to skip Budva, which was included in the trip and we toured Bosnia instead. This decision alone saved us a 4 to 5 hours wait at the border on the return drive to Croatia. He possesses a balanced knowledge of the areas we toured and an excellent sense of humor, which made the drive enjoyable and entertaining. The detour to Bosnia was time saving as well as a cultural PLUS!! I recommend the Montenegro trip, Dejan as a guide and an extra day in Montenegro if you have the time.

What an excellent excursion while visiting Croatia! Our guide Zach Zeljan was really what put it over the top. He was extremely professional and thoughtful in his approach to the trip. He made sure that we had everything we needed from passports to supplies, and even some drinking water for us when we were very parched. He was very knowledgeable and had great insight on all of the best spots to go to in and around Montenegro. You could tell that he was well liked by many people in the area as he had good relationships with local bars and shops and was able to get us deals.
We had a lovely time exploring the locations on the tour and enjoyed some good food as well. Our guide, Dejan, was excellent and he was very informative. He was funny and made the journeys between each location enjoyable. Would recommend!
