Ontdek de ware smaken van Modena op een meeslepende reis door het eten die geschiedenis, traditie en onvergetelijke smaken combineert. Uw ervaring begint bij de oudste bakkerij van de stad met een proeverij van iconische taarten en zoete gebakjes, voordat u doorgaat naar een lokale bottega voor een begeleide proeverij van authentieke, gerijpte balsamicoazijn, een van Modena's trotste culinaire schatten. In Mercato Albinelli geniet u van meerdere eeuwen van de beroemde Parmigiano Reggiano, gevolgd door een voorproefje van het geliefde ronde brood van de stad met lokale pesto, perfect gecombineerd met sprankelende Lambrusco. Een klassiek Modenese pastagerecht wacht in een historisch restaurant, aangevuld met een kenmerkende lokale wijn, alvorens af te sluiten met ambachtelijke gelato uit een favoriete buurtwinkel en een heerlijk geheim gerecht, exclusief onthuld aan onze gasten.

We beginnen onze heerlijke food tour op een fascinerend lokaal ontmoetingspunt, waar je het verhaal leert van een van de meest iconische operatenoren van Italië, Luciano Pavarotti.
Vervolgens verkennen we een van Modena’s beroemdste schatten : Aceto Balsamico di Modena. We genieten van een proeverij in een Bottega die eigendom is van de familie en ontdekken het vakmanschap achter dit wereldberoemde product.
Vervolgens gaan we naar de levendige Mercato Albinelli, de historische overdekte markt van Modena, opgericht in 1931. Met ongeveer 65 kraampjes met verse lokale producten is het de perfecte plek om Modena's geliefde kaas en zijn traditionele ronde flatbread te ontdekken - en te leren hoe de lokale bevolking ervan geniet.
Vervolgens gaan we naar de levendige Mercato Albinelli, de historische overdekte markt van Modena, opgericht in 1931. Onze wandeling gaat verder naar het oude Piazza Grande, het historische centrale plein van Modena en een UNESCO Werelderfgoed. Omgeven door de kathedraal en de Ghirlandina toren, dit middeleeuwse plein is vol sfeer en het lokale leven. Hier stoppen we bij een unieke traditionele trattoria om een klassiek Modenese pastagerecht te proeven.
We eindigen de tour op een zoete noot met een ambachtelijke gelato bij de lokale GIOELIA Cremeria.

We absolutely loved our tour. Roberta was delightful, and so much fun! The walking tour took us to several different shops and restaurants including the main market. The food was exceptional, and we learned some of the history and manufacturing processes. Very interesting. Come hungry and with comfortable walking shoes. Roberta is the best guide. He guided me passionately with a lovely smile and knowledge. I enjoyed the tour with my 13-year-old daughter, with one from Brazil. It was a very hot day, but we had a portico so we could walk around. We enjoyed two kinds of pasta and three kinds of Parmigiano-Reggiano cheese. Enjoy Modena, a 30-minute train ride from Bologna.

I highly recommend this food tour! The tour was absolutely worth of money. Our guide Steffy is wonderful! She knows what she is doing. The atmosphere is warm and pleasant with her. You'll get to taste many different things, flavours and hidden gems. Don't eat before this!!! You won't Be hungry after.
