Mitla, Tule, Hierve el agua en Teotilán

Beschrijving

The guide, Miguel, was very knowledgeable and witty. It was a busy day with just enough time to explore everything.
Thank you so much for your kind words! We're delighted to hear that you enjoyed your day. We will share your words with Miguel. We truly appreciate your feedback and hope to welcome you again on another adventure in Mexico! 😊
Is offered as an English excursion. We were picked up by Jorge on time and then it was silence until El Tule. There Flor spoke and we got a very good explanation entirely in English, also the subsequent visit to the weaving mill and Mitla, where Flor gave very enthusiastic explanations both in Spanish and English. There was nothing to complain about here. Mitla is very basic as an archaeological site, but was ok. And then Flor suddenly said goodbye and the English-speaking accompaniment was finished. All the rest was done in Spanish and we were lucky that some of the Spanish speaking tourists were kind enough to translate into English. Hierve El Agua was at least more than worth it. Definitely recommended. Then there was a Mezcal company, which was also interesting, especially if you like that stuff. During the drive back there was therefore the necessary ambiance in the shack, partly thanks to the very loud music. Suddenly we were dumped somewhere in the center of Oaxaca with the announcement that this was the end of the drive and that we had to figure out our own way back to our hotel (long live Google maps). In short the trip was ok, but the guidance dropped some serious stitches.
Thank you very much for taking the time to share such a detailed review. We’re glad to hear you enjoyed the visits to Mitla, Hierve el Agua, and the mezcal experience, and that Flor’s explanations added value to the tour. We’re very sorry that the English guidance was not consistent throughout the day and that the drop-off was not as clear as expected. Your feedback is extremely helpful, and we’ll make sure to share it with our local team to improve communication and service for future travelers. We truly appreciate your comments and hope to have the chance to offer you a smoother experience next time you visit Oaxaca. 🌿

It was a great experience. We had the chance to habe an AMAZING AND WELL PREPARED GUIDE NAMED MARTHA. She’s one of the best tour guides we have had in all of my travels around the world, honestly!
Hello Tahany Thank you so much for taking the time to share your experience with us! For sure I will send your comments to Martha :D We hope to see you soon All best
I would give more stars were it not for the fact that we were dropped off 6km from our hotel and told to find our own way back. This was in spite of me having proof that drop off and pick up points were the same. The tour guide refused to honour the agreement made with Viator.
Hello Annie_S We are sorry about what happened, As we spoke a few days ago I apologized for this situation, and hope the refund we gave for transport can reduce this bad experience. Let's hope to see you again soon for another opportunity!
This was an amazing tour, full of history and heart! Our guide, Angel, was not only just knowledgeable, but is committed to sharing the complexities of his culture, with so much love! I highly recommend this experience!

Out visit to Mitla et al was mixed. The locations were beautiful and interesting. However our driver was terrifying and our guide (Angel) egotistical and arrogant. I cannot recommend this tour although the locations are worth visiting.
Hello Jane, Thank you for your comments, I apologize for what happened, we already sent the report to this driver and the guide so it won't happen again. Your comments help us improve. All best
By booking through Viator,I paid more than twice as much as anyone else AND they put me on a different trip for some reason. They did arrange for someone to drive me home before seeing site I’d already seen. You can purchase what you want from person in Oaxaca selling tours. I will not use Viator again.
Hello Ann_L We are sorry you had a bad experience, unfortunately we do not have any influence on third party operators prices. We will verify this won´t happen again to improve our service. Kind Regards
Horrible experience, I would not recommend this tour. It all started when we had to go to lunch at a buffet restaurant. The food was not the best and the desserts tasted old and flavorless. The owner apparently was offended because my kids tried the desserts and did not eat it all. The owner told my husband “I don’t know how it’s in the United States but here we don’t waste food”. We then told the tour lady about what had happened. She basically brushed it off and told us not to think about it. We did not want to offend anyone but I was offended and it ruined my tour. If you like to be treated like you don’t matter then go ahead and go on this tour. I’ll I ask is for us to be treated with respect, I’m not asking for much.
Hello Maria_C, Thank you for your comments as this makes us grow, improve and be better, I apologize for what happened in the restaurant, I will verify this directly with the operator this situation so it won't happen again. Thank you for your comments, and sorry one more for what happened All best
The tour was booked in English, but the group eventually consisted of Spanish and English speaking participants. Of course, this is not a problem at first, but you quickly realized that both groups had a completely different experience. While the "Spanish" group received all available information at the different stations, in my estimation less than half of this information was passed on to the "English" group. I would therefore not recommend the tour - at least for non-Spanish speaking tourists.
Dear Jan M, I'm so sorry for the inconvenience I sent the report to our operator in Oaxaca to avoid this problem again since both groups should receive the same info, your review help us grow and improve. Thank you!
