Educational and fun!

Great educational experience in the middle of the world. 😁 Be aware that balancing an egg on a nail can be done anywhere in the world. It’s a myth to think that latitude 0 would increase the chances.

Just a ride.

All this is is a ride to the Intinan Museum, which is a very tacky touristy 'museum' where you get the same 'tour' that comes with a $5 entrance to the museum. You then find your own way to the Mitad del Mundo complex, which is good for a few pictures and not much else. It's mostly just souvenir shops, and you have to figure out what is what on your own. It's a long trip for what is essentially a few photos, and there are better ways to pass your time in Quito

The experience was...

The experience was spectacular. Great walk, but tired on the return! Diverse group and very attentive guide.

Cheesy

Worth seeing exact center of equator but time spent in fake little village is cheesy at best. I guess something to justify price.

Incredible

Incredible experience. Brandon was my guide at the museum. I went alone, and there is always someone kind who can take your photos at the middle of the world.

A Must-Do Experience!

First of all, shout out to Pamela for being an amazing tour bus guide!! This experience was so much more than I expected, and was one of my highlights of visiting Quito! I thought I'd take an Uber to the equator monument and just snap a picture, but I'm so glad I didn't. I learned so much on this trip about the equator and also the history of the Ecuador amazon life. The museum guide, Brandon, was exceptional in his explanations, and the equator experiments were phenomenal. And then there was plenty of time to go over to the other monument and visit the shops there, so it really was a well balanced day and definitely worth the money.

TRAVEL TO QUITO ECUADOR

Recommended 10/10, Easter trip with my partner and the place I loved.... we met several places within them the real half of the world, Mirador de Pululahua, we also went to the basilica of the National Vote and finally to holy water baths (Pailon del Diablo).

Good for this solo traveler

I booked this tour as a low cost way of getting to Mitad del Mundo...there were only 5 people on the tour and we all sat on the open air upper deck of the bus...our guide was friendly and provided some information along the way over a speaker system...to be honest, I only caught a small portion of what was said as it was hard to hear with the wind swirling on the upper deck as we're heading down the highway...first stop was the Intinan Museo where we were turned over to their own guides...our guide (Daniella??) there was awesome!...friendly and great with everyone, she was very knowledgeable and passionate about her country and it's history along with her geographical knowledge of the equator...one of the best tour guides I've had...next was a solo short walk over to Mitad del Mundo where I had about an hour to myself to explore that area...mostly shops and restaurants...there is a monument you can go inside and walk up with exhibits along the way and nice views from the top...then back to the bus to head back...overall, a good way to go for a solo traveler without a car

Cool little bus tour

A fun mostly all day tour. The first stop was great and the guides were super nice and did a great job explaining everything in English and Spanish. The activities really made it extra fun. The second was pretty cool but more just a monument to see and walk to the top if you want. There are lots of shops and little waiters but it’s very touristy. The final stop if you did the whole tour was a little agave shop which was cool because you got to tour their little garden and taste test and even got a small free drink at the end. Worth it if you’ve got time and things of that nature interest you. Was just cool standing where the northern and southern hemispheres meet.

Mitad del Mundo was great! Tour did not include Casa Agave as listed

The tour bus was really nice - double decker. Things seemed quite organized at first and we got handouts with schedules and everything. The info given on the bus was great The tour at the Intinen Museum was AWESOME! I learned so much and it was genuinely super interesting. It was confusing to figure out how to get from the museum to the Mitad del Mundo monument. We had to do this on our own and the guide gave brief instructions, but I still got lost. There weren't really signs to guide you. The reason I give it 4 stars is because on the Viator description, it says my tour was supposed to include some sort of agave tasting at CASA AGAVE. The original bus guide even mentioned this that some tours included this. It seemed like you could pay for a cheaper version that only included the museum + monument. The guide told us to meet at the meeting point near the monument at 5:30. The driver was about 10 minutes late and I started to worry that we were in the wrong spot, but the bus eventually came. Then, the bus sat there for another 10 minutes before departing (not sure why). I assumed the driver would take us to the final spot on the tour CASA AGAVE, but I eventually realized he was just taking us all the way back to the meeting point. He didn't talk to us or ask any questions about which tour people were doing. I don't really care about missing the agave thing because I don't even drink, but it seemed like I should have paid less for the tour if that wasn't included. Or maybe there was a miscommunication with the bus driver. Either way, it was confusing.
