Mindo is een stad in het noordwesten van Quito, 2 uur rijden. Het nevelwoud heeft een ongelooflijke diversiteit aan vogelfauna, met name kolibries, maar ook vlinders. Dit gebied van primair bos met een immense biodiversiteit heeft ook enkele van de hoogste percentages van endemische planten in de wereld: orchideeën, bromelia's, heliconias, varens, wijnstokken, mossen en korstmossen groeien hier in overvloed.

'S Ochtends worden we door onze chauffeur-gids opgehaald bij ons hotel om het noordwesten van Quito te nemen met richting Mindo, een van de meest bezochte nevelwouden in Ecuador. Om naar Mindo te komen, duurt het ongeveer 2 uur, zodra we in de stad aankomen, zullen we een geweldige plek bezoeken om vele soorten kolibries te bewonderen. De volgende stop is bij de vlindertuin waar we de 4 stadia van het vlinderleven zullen zien, omringd door 1200 kleurrijke vlinders tegelijkertijd. Ons volgende punt is de ambachtelijke chocoladefabriek; hier krijg je de kans om het proces te leren kennen om een heerlijke en pure chocolade te maken van de cacaoboon. Als we tijd hebben, is er een kans om plezier te hebben met Canopy (Zip-Line/optioneel). Uiteindelijk keren we terug naar Quito.
Voor degenen met beperkte tijd die Middle of the World niet konden bezoeken, kunnen we stoppen op deze plek op de terugweg van Mindo zonder extra kosten (toegangsprijs NIET inbegrepen), schrijf dit verzoek gewoon op en we zullen het mogelijk maken.

We spend the morning surrounded by lush greenery and wildlife, then transition back to the city with a stop at the equator. It’s a lot of ground to cover, but the private transport makes the logistics seamless and much easier than trying to coordinate local buses.
It was an incredibly special day with Mijael. He was SO passionate and knowledgeable about every aspect of the trip, from the plants and nature to geography and mythology. We loved chatting with him, exploring the stunning town of Mindo, and enjoying a waterfall hike. The tour felt relaxed , peaceful, fun and educational. Thanks for organizing a memorable day!

My family & I had an excellent English speaking guide in Quito. We spent 3 days with Kevin. We visited Quito, the center of the earth, the Mindo cloud forest, went zip lining and the Otavalo market. Kevin spent over 10 hours with us each day, he hiked with us and took us to a great chocolate farm and good restaurant. He was accommodating, pleasant and knowledgeable. I enjoyed photographing the numerous hummingbirds. Very colorful. Also learning how chocolate was made was interesting. Seeing the butterfly farm was a once-in-a-lifetime experience. And the orchid farm was amazing.
