Dit is een geweldige tour voor diegenen die slechts een halve dag op pad willen, weinig tijd hebben of lekker willen uitslapen tijdens hun vakantie! We bezoeken twee gebieden tijdens deze reis, Daintree River en Mossman Gorge. We beginnen met een rit langs de Captain Cook Highway, op weg naar de Daintree River, en delen onderweg wat geschiedenis. Hier gaan we aan boord van een cruise langs de Daintree River, uitkijkend naar de lokale fauna, waaronder de estuariene krokodil, slangen, vogels, kikkers en meer. Geniet tijdens het varen van een biertje, wijntje of frisdrank met een hapje. Na de Wildlife Cruise gaan we naar Mossman Gorge. Eenmaal in Mossman Gorge National Park maken we een interpretatieve wandeling langs een verhoogde promenade. Afhankelijk van het weer kunnen we genieten van een duik in de kristalheldere regenwoudstroom, terwijl we worden omringd door het prachtige en genezende Mossman Gorge-regenwoud. Wat een onvergetelijke manier om een middag door te brengen!

Je gaat aan boord van een cruise langs de Daintree River, uitkijkend naar allerlei soorten wezens, waaronder de estuariene krokodil, slangen, vogels, kikkers en meer.
We komen aan bij Mossman Gorge en je gids neemt je mee op een wandeling en deelt hun kennis van de lokale flora en fauna en beantwoordt al je vragen. Dit is een gemakkelijke wandeling van 500 meter, meestal langs promenades. U kunt genieten van een duik in de kristalheldere regenwoudstroom, die behoorlijk verfrissend kan zijn, terwijl u wordt omringd door het prachtige en genezende Mossman Gorge-regenwoud. Wat een geweldige manier om een ochtend door te brengen!

Informatie over ophalen Wij zorgen voor pick-up rechtstreeks van uw Port Douglas accommodatie. Als alternatief kunt u ons ontmoeten bij Wildlife Habitat Port Douglas of Club Mossman. Selecteer uw gewenste ophaallocatie bij het boeken, of neem minstens 24 uur voor uw tour contact met ons op als u uw gegevens wilt bijwerken. Pick-ups beginnen in de Port Douglas CBD van 12 : 50pm. Zorg dat u tegen deze tijd klaar staat voor uw accommodatie. Afhankelijk van onze planning kunnen we enkele minuten later bij u op locatie aankomen. Belangrijk : Wij bieden geen pick-ups van Cairns.

Brilliant, safely saw crocs in natural habitat. Cam was a very likeable guide and we also saw the beautiful river and swimming hole. Bonus is this is a half day tour so perfect use of holiday time and money. Includes a wine and snack. DO THIS ONE, you want be disappointed!

It was a nice little half day trip. Didn’t catch the driver’s name, but he was very pleasant and informative. I wish the company was more communicative about pickup time. I took a shuttle in from Cairns and had I known I would’ve been picked up after 1pm, I would’ve caught a later shuttle rather than waiting for over an hour. Regardless, the visit to the rainforest was nice and the river cruise was also nice. We saw a bunch of crocs. If you want a filler trip and only have a quick stopover in Port Douglas/Cairns, this is a good tour for it.

First off, our guide Cam was utterly infectious with his passion and knowledge about the human and natural history of the region. During the short drive to meet the boat for our river cruise he taught my partner “more than she’d ever learnt at school” about indigenous connection to country and culture in this area and contrasted this history with somewhat stereotypical idioms of received wisdom more usually disseminated on the subject. The Daintree River cruise was wonderful; leisurely, extremely entertaining, and came through on every promise with crocs up close and personal, river wisdom, and unplanned encounters with rather rare species of birds (my highlight). All done with a laconic sense of humour that kept everyone laughing and fully engaged for the whole trip through this stunning waterscape. Moving on to the Mossman Gorge I had my doubts as the boardwalk is so iconic I expected the worst kind of tourist trap. But quite the opposite. The short walk to the rapids where we swam in crystal clear and perfect temperature waters, with catfish at our feet and rainforest birds all around us, as the Golden Penda flowered prolifically all around us, was isolated in space and time. A truly wonderful experience and I would not hesitate to recommend Daintree Discovery Tours half day or full day tours to anyone visiting the region. Literally brilliant.

This is a full day of adventure! Dave is a great host and he will give you an amazing insight and knowledge about Queensland as you travel. I definitely recommend bringing bathers as you do visit a goregous place to swim in Mossman gorge if the weather conditions are right
