Great experience, definitely recommend it. Learned a lot about both products and appreciate the variety and differences much more.
Roo was our sommelier and we learned so much. The mezcals and moles were both very good and the space was really nice. I recommend for a nice date night!
This was a great opportunity to learn about the artisanal mezcals and traditional moles. It was my first time trying all moles and pairing them with such a variety of drinks too. This was a great introduction to mexican food heritage.
I had an absolutely fantastic experience with my guide, Ro. She was incredibly knowledgeable and answered my many questions in a way that was easy for a layperson to understand. We primarily spoke in Spanish, but whenever I struggled to follow, she seamlessly switched to English, which made the experience even more comfortable. While I originally came for the mezcal tasting, the mole pairing ended up being a huge highlight. I had never been much of a fan of mole before, probably because I’d only had mediocre versions, but this completely changed my perspective. I left a true fan and even brought some of my favorites home. Fair warning: you’ll likely leave with a few bottles of mezcal as well. Ro thoughtfully wrapped mine in bubble wrap so they made it home safely in my luggage. This tasting is a fantastic way to learn about and appreciate the nuances of mezcal before visiting the distilleries themselves. 10/10 experience, absolutely worth the price and highly recommended.
If you like mezcal and mole, this is the activity for you :-). The sommelier was wonderful and full of knowledge and insights. Also, personable and flexible. The pairings were fascinating. My husband does not drink at all, and still enjoyed the moles and their explanations very much. This is also a restaurant of some sort, and we stayed on for dinner. The sommelier was also the chef, and made us a fantastic dinner, even though she didn't expect us. Two of our party are vegetarian, and she did a terrific and imaginative job adjusting for them.
Roo did an amazing job guiding us through the tastings. Her knowledge of mezcal was impressive. The mezcals were excellent quality. The moles were incredible. Together the tastes were dramatic and surprising. The setting was beautiful and relaxing. It was a fun learning experience.
Great experience with our sommelier Roo! She explained every Mezcal and Mole perfectly and made this experience a highlight on my Oaxaca visit!
Had a great time trying different mezcal and learning about the different styles, flavors, and food culture associated with it. Amazing soms to lead the way.
We learned quite a bit about mezcal during the evening and it was interesting tasting the mezcal with the moles. The difference in taste was sometimes quite surprising. We were the only two at the tasting, so it was a more intimate experience. Would have been fun to interact with others as well. Good times.
Well organised, our host Roo was very knowledgeable and entertaining. She spoke good English and we learnt a lot. Mezcal and mole were paired together and tasted great.
