The trail was easy to follow, easy to moderate in elevation and design. For people scared of heights there are a few passages/kilometers that may be challenging (but with epic views for others). A lovely 2-2,5 hour walk if you are a moderately fit hiker.

We had a great experience! Our guide was very friendly, easy to communicate with, and always quick to respond. He gave us clear instructions before the hike, so we knew exactly where to go and what to expect. He also shared lots of interesting information about the region, which made the experience even more enjoyable. Everything was well organized, and we highly recommend booking with him.

We had a lovely relaxing time on this hike. Hugo picked us up promptly in a clean and spacious car. He drove us to the start of the hike and gave us a briefing on the directions and gave us clear instructions on where to meet at the end. The start of the hike had beautiful coastal cliff views to the left and it was a gentle and safe path which allowed lots of time to enjoy the views. It then heads down the valley into the town. At the end point, we decided to add on a levada walk which took us past the local houses so you could see their crops and take in pretty views of the orange roofed houses as we continued to head down to the meeting point. Hugo kindly dropped us off at the beach for a well deserved drink and ice cream overlooking the sea. It was a wonderful day trip. Thank you Hugo.

Amazing hike, wonderful views. Not so crowded as other routes. Guide Hugo was friendly, flexible, trustworthy and helpful. We missed one point on hike and Hugo helped us find the right track. We recommend this service and this hike!

This was an amazing self-guided coastline hike with stunning views; one of our favorites. The trail was less crowded and we enjoyed the incredible views along the trail. The added bonus: birds' chirping and lots of magnificent butterflies. It was made possible by Hugo, who recommended it. He provided a detailed description and instructions about the of the trail, including Google map points. It made it easier to navigate this beautiful trail. Even though it was a self-guided hike, Hugo stayed in touch over WhatsApp; just in case we needed his assistance. Every time we are in Funchal, Madeira, we use Hugo for either guided tour or self-guided tours. He is an incredibly nice person and shown tremendous flexibility, which as a tourist is really great. We highly recommend using Hugo for not only this self-hiking tour but other tours as well.

We had a Great time at this afternoon Hike. Hugo, the Guide who organizes the Tour or more specific the transfer, was very kind and friendly. He picked us up at our desired location and we had a good chat with him on the way to our starting point near Porto da Cruz. The tour takes 3-4 hours, depending on the personal fitness level. Special hiking gear is not required, just some good hiking shoes, since the track can be muddy/wet in some areas. All in all we had a great tour with beautiful views of the northern/eastern coastline and later on Madeira and it‘s valleys. We can definitely recommend this tour.

Easy self hiking route with breathtaking views!! Transfers to start route and from end of route!! I got digital links of route to my phone from guide,easy coastal walk path! I advice to take hiking poles!! Highly recommended 👌!!!
