Ons 4x4-avontuur begint bij Cabo Girão, de beroemde "SKYWALK", de op één na hoogste klif van Europa met een ongelooflijke hoogte van 580 meter. We rijden verder over kronkelende wegen naar Ribeira Brava, waar de 16e-eeuwse São Bento kerk opvalt en een adembenemend uitzicht op de oceaan biedt. Vervolgens komen we aan bij Ponta do Sol, de zonnigste plek op het eiland, omringd door dramatische kliffen. We stijgen naar Paul da Serra, de enige hoogvlakte van Madeira, vaak gehuld in mist, die contrasteert met de weelderige kustgebieden. We dalen af en komen aan bij Porto Moniz, beroemd om zijn natuurlijke lavapoelen. Langs de kust betovert de Ribeira da Janela met zijn basaltzuilen. In Seixal bewonderen we het zwarte zandstrand en de natuurlijke zwembaden met kristalhelder water. We eindigen in Câmarade Lobos, het vissersdorpje dat Churchill bezocht, voordat we proosten op de rijke wijntraditie van Madeira in het wijnhuis Henriques & Henriques, waarmee we een onvergetelijke dag afsluiten.

Na het ophalen hebben we de eerste stop bij Miradouro do Pico da Torre, waar u kunt genieten van de prachtige baai van Câmara de Lobos, gevolgd door een off-road.
Met een hoogte van 580 meter is Cabo Girão het hoogste voorgebergte van Europa, maar dat is niet de enige reden waarom het over de hele wereld steeds bekender is geworden. Het uitkijkpunt, met het beroemde hangende glazen platform – skywalk genaamd – is momenteel een van de meest bezochte (en zeker meest gefotografeerde) toeristische attracties in de gemeente Câmara de Lobos en de archipel van Madeira.
Ribeira Brava staat bekend om zijn uitgestrekte vallei, ontdekt in de 15e eeuw, met prachtig weer voor bananen en suikerriet.
Nadat we Ribeira Brava hebben verlaten, passeren we Ponta de Sol om het dorp te bewonderen dat aan het einde van de 19e eeuw een belangrijk oriëntatiepunt voor de export was. Daarna stoppen we voor koffie, toilet en alles wat de klanten nodig hebben
Met zijn unieke natuurlijke landschap is Paul da Serra een unieke bezienswaardigheid op het eiland Madeira. Het is het grootste bergplateau van de hele archipel. Het is daarom een van de belangrijkste (en niet te missen) bezienswaardigheden in de gemeente Ponta do Sol. Met een gemiddelde hoogte van 1500 meter biedt Paul da Serra een prachtig uitzicht op de bergtoppen en diepe valleien in de omgeving. Op dagen met goed zicht kun je de kustlijn van de zuidkust tot de noordkust zien. Het landschap wordt echter gedomineerd door de groene tinten van de natuur.
Fanal, gelegen tussen de bergen van Seixal en Ribeira da Janela, is een uitgestrekt bosgebied dat uitnodigt om in alle rust te genieten van het beste dat de natuur te bieden heeft. Deze idyllische plek is een van de meest emblematische plekken in de gemeente Porto Moniz en herbergt een landschap van grote schoonheid.
We zullen een prachtige stop maken bij Ribeira da Janela, richting een kleine grot waar je een prachtig panoramisch uitzicht hebt op de blauwe Atlantische Oceaan.
We stoppen in Porto Moniz voor de lunch, waar je kunt rondwandelen en genieten van een van de mooiste plekken op ons eiland. (DE TIJD OP DEZE LOCATIE KAN VARIËREN)
Stop om het prachtige natuurlijke zwarte zandstrand te bewonderen.
Aan het eind van de dag keren we terug naar Câmara de Lobos naar de Madeira wijnfabriek, waar we de heerlijke Madeira wijnen zullen proeven. (ALLEEN VAN MAANDAG TOT VRIJDAG)

Complete tour of the west. In Fanal I think we spent too little time. If you want to swim in the natural pools you have to bring a picnic for lunch otherwise there won't be time. Professional company and good driver Miguel Franco

We had been staying in Funchal, and thought that with the price of taxis and the length of time buses take, we wouldn’t be able to see many of the sights on the west or north of the island. Fortunately we found Miguel’s tour. The value for money was fantastic, Miguel was a very informative tour guide who genuinely cares about the quality of tour. He knows a lot about the island and ensures that everybody has a safe and enjoyable trip. The pick up was exactly on time and the fact that he comes to pick you up and drop you off after the tour is excellent. It was a fantastic day that allowed us to enjoy the island in all its beauty and he ensured we had sufficient time at every location, but not too much where we got bored or ran out of things to do. I would highly recommend going with Miguel for the tour.

We had an amazing experience on the 4x4 West & North tour in Madeira! Miguel was incredibly friendly, welcoming, and knowledgeable, making the whole trip enjoyable from start to finish. We had the pleasure of travelling on this tour with our guide Miguel. From start to finish it was hassle free. We got to see the West Coast of Madeira and hear of all its hidden gems.
