Our family of 3 had a private tour with Anong as our guide. He was generous, energetic, and highly professional. He speaks perfect English. He has an extensive knowledge of the history and culture of Laos, so we learned a great deal from him. I have done some study of Buddhism, and was surprised and pleased to learn some things from him that I did not know during our final visit to a lovely small temple. Thank you, Anong!
Highly recommend. I did this tour with Nong as my tour guide and it was a great tour of the city. We covered all the key spots, Nong’s English was excellent and he was very knowledgeable, patient, and accommodating. He really took into account my preferences and adjusted the tour to my needs.
No wonder they have the best ratings of all tour agencies in town. They are super helpful and run the most competitive tours in and around town. They also provide information for bus schedules. Thank you huys for the help!
Interesting local knowledge and a variety of things to see. Our guide Thim was very helpful and friendly and even accommodated our request for local foods!
Lovely driver and guide. Punctual pick up in tuk tuk then joined by 3 other tourists. Guide's English was excellent. Taken to see 2 temples and royal palace/national museum. Really nice day, good pace. Finished with coffee which was paid for by the tour operator, which was a nice gesture. Collected at 8.30am and finished by 2pm.
Good tour touring the main temples and attractions of the city. Recommended. Our guide was punctual and had 18 years of experience, knew a lot about the history of Luang Prabang and Laos
We had a wonderful excursion with Oun as our guide. He explained every detail and made it worthwhile. Stories behind the Temples, the UXO trip was an eye opener as well.
I did the Half day City Tour, Cooking class and Sunset Cruise. Overall it was a good tour. Thomas and his team were very quick to respond to emails. The local tour guide gave a lot of information about Laos in general. Very educational for me. The cooking class with Tamarind restaurant was excellent. The sunset cruise was great as well. Areas that could be improved: punctuality. My pick-up was between 8-8:30am. I went to the lobby of the hotel at 8:15 and met Ken. Around 8:30, he said there was a car problem so would move it to 9:00am. The local tour guide said he didn't know about the tour and was only informed at 8:30am so he was a bit late. Not really sure what happened. I was also late for my cooking class. All other participants waited for me. I was in the hotel lobby at 4pm but they arrived at 4:30pm. The cooking class starts at 4:30pm. I think we were not late for the sunset cruise. Other than that, the overall experience was good.
Hi jasper2276, Thank you so much for your review and your comment about punctuality. We will work again with our tour guide and driver to make sure late picking up has not happened again. Thank you so much and have more great trip! Thomas - Laos Group Tours
This was our first visit to Laos and after doing some research online, decided that Laos Group Tours seemed to be getting the best reviews for what we wanted. We booked a custom, private, half day city tour, and half day driving off road to visit hill tribe communities. Our guide was Mr. Anong Toulangern. We also arranged for airport transfers with this same company. Everything was smooth, prompt, and exactly as described. Aside from the having the insights of our local guide, we appreciated getting to know him on a more personal level as well (as this really is where the local insight comes from, more so than just viewing attractions). Anong was very personable, accommodating, and had good command of the English language to fully articulate the significance of what we were experiencing. It was also a very nice touch that, after an hour of touring outdoors, we would return to the vehicle with ice cold waters and cold towel packs to try to cool down from the intense heat and humidity. If we were to return to Luang Prabang, we would not hesitate to call on the services of Laos Group Tours and of Anong. He appears to also enjoy outdoor trekking and more physical endeavors (sports) as well. So if that is what you're looking for, consider asking for him as your guide!
Hi LQGuy, Thank you so much for a great review with our tour guide and our service. We definitely believe that you have had a great time in Laos to discover Laos culture. Hope that see you again in Laos! Thomas
The guide took us around to two temples(Wats) there and then a little time was spent in the morning market which was closing down anyways. The rest was used to cover the Royal Museum and a place where there is a museum on unexploded bombs during the 1964-73 war. Overall the itinerary suggested much more and with the kind of money paid it was definitely below par. Also the fact that one can easily cover these by walking around on your own. Felt cheated.
