Een dagexcursie naar de Pak Ou-grotten en de Kuang Si-watervallen. We vertrekken 's ochtends vanaf de bootpier van Luang Prabang. Drijvend langs de Mekong rivier, zult u verliefd worden op het prachtige landschap van Luang Prabang. Stop bij een dorp "Ban Xang Hai" voor het proeven van unieke lokale rijstwhisky en rijstwijn. Daarna verken je de mysterieuze grot met een lokale gids. Lunchbuffet in het restaurant met uitzicht op de Mekong rivier. 's Middags gaan we met de auto naar watervallen en genieten van een duik in het koele water. Om 17.00 uur vertrekken we naar de stad. Stop onderweg bij een Hmong-dorp. We ontmoeten Hmong-mensen die traditionele kleding dragen en zien hun kleine Hmong-museum. Aankomst in het stadscentrum of uw hotel om 6:00 uur. Er is een optie om 's ochtends watervallen te bezoeken en' s middags Caves and Sunset Boat Cruise. Dit is dezelfde ervaring, behalve dat de ochtend- en middagroutes worden verwisseld.

Een uniek klein dorpje aan de oevers van de rivier de Mekong. Ban Xang Hai, ook bekend als whiskydorp, staat bekend om hun ambachtelijke producten zoals het distilleren en verkopen van whisky, met de hand geweven stof en sieraden.
Deze twee grotten bevinden zich op ongeveer 25 km van Luang Prabang, waar de Nam Ou-rivier uitmondt in de Meking. De reis op een langzaam bewegende longboat naar grotten is beslist pittoresk. Autorijden stroomopwaarts zie je de lokale bevolking vissen en luisteren naar de vrolijke laugher van kinderen spatten in het water. De grotten worden overal in Laos vereerd en een zeer populaire plek voor toeristen en pelgrims. Er zijn ongeveer 4000 statyes abd statyettes in de grotten, meestal van de Boeddha, veel stukk bedekt met flinterdun vergulden. De eerste grot wordt bereikt door een steile trap vanaf de rand van de rivier, terwijl de tweede grot iets dieper in de berg ligt: breng een fakkelschijn!
De Kuang Si-watervallen, soms gespeld als Kuang Xi of bekend als Tat Kuang Si-watervallen, is een waterval met drie niveaus, ongeveer 29 kilometer ten zuiden van Luang Prabang. Bij het bereiken van de watervallen kunt u ontspannen en genieten van de prachtige natuurlijke omgeving. Het water valt naar beneden en stroomt zachtjes in verschillende koele, heldere zwembaden waar u kunt genieten van een verfrissende duik. De avonturiers kunnen via een steile weg naar de top van de watervallen lopen, waar prachtige uitzichten op hen wachten. Kuang Si-watervallen is ook een plaats waar zich een reddingscentrum bevindt voor de bescherming van zonneberen, de bedreigde diersoort.
Op de terugweg van de waterval bezoeken we een Hmong-dorp. We lopen door het dorp en stoppen bij een klein museum gebouwd door de dorpsbewoners. We leren van de dorpelingen gekleed in traditionele kostuums over hun oorspronkelijke leven in de hooglanden.

In conclusion, I'm so glad I participated! Our guide, Mr Ping Pong, explained everything clearly in easy-to-understand English, interspersed with humorous jokes. The day was packed with all the Luang Prabang experiences you could want. With unlimited beer, it was excellent value for money. There were participants from many different countries, creating a friendly, international atmosphere throughout. On the final cruise, we toasted with beer and tea while watching the sunset with the people we'd befriended! It was an unforgettable day. I'm not particularly fluent in English, but I think even those with limited English skills would enjoy this group tour.
A fabulous day out packed full of different things. A swim in the waterfall, a visit to the caves, the lovely sunset cruise home and more besides. Mr Pong our guide was superb, attentive, informative and helpful at all times. 10/10 for Mr Pong.

Very good experience. We book the trip quite last minute on 10pm for next day trip, but Tour Guide Mr. Ping pong pick us up promptly. The trip is informative yet quite relaxing. We enjoy the trip
What a delight stress free day...we (a group of 8 in the van) went to so many places, the falls, Asiatic bear Sanctuary, the Pak Ou caves, a Hmong village, lunch on the river with elephant observation (and feeding if you so desired), a rice whisky distillery, and a cruise on the Mekong River. It sounds like a lot and it was, but there was no rushing around...it was a leisurely pace, and Mr Pong the guide was lovely.
This tour had everything I needed in Luang Prabang. The tour guide, Mr Ping-pong was such a nice guy and had a good command of English and Japanese. We rode on a boat after enjoying seeing the waterfall, riding on an elephant and tasting whiskey. I had real fun talking with so many different tourists from different countries. And the view of the sunset from the boat was magnificent. You might think the fee is a bit expensive, but after you experienced everything in the tour, I’m pretty sure that you would think it is worth paying. There were quite a few solo travelers, so if you are also the one, don’t worry about it. Of course, it is also good for a family trip!
Mr Pong did a great job on this excellent value trip. Waterfakls were great, with a good lunch and endless free drinks. A great way too see some Lao culture, svenery and to relax floating down the Mekong.

Our full-day cruise to the Pak Ou Caves and Kuang Si Waterfalls was absolutely incredible, and a huge part of that was due to our fantastic guide, Mr. PingPong. He was professional, knowledgeable, and made sure we felt completely taken care of from the moment we were picked up at our hotel. The long-tail boat ride along the Mekong was so relaxing, and we loved stopping at the 'whiskey village' to sample the local Lao Lao. The Pak Ou Caves were stunning and full of history, and after a delicious buffet lunch overlooking the river at the Manifa Elephant Camp, we had plenty of time to explore the breathtaking turquoise pools of the Kuang Si Waterfalls and even visit the bear rescue center. It was a perfect day packed with culture, nature, and great food, and we highly recommend this tour to anyone visiting Luang Prabang—especially if you’re lucky enough to have PingPong as your guide!

The places visited were lovely, the attention to the customer was much appreciated, such as the bottle of cold water after the 500 steps, the beer at sunset, and the fact of having the entrance tickets included. An appreciation to Mr. Pong who accompanied us.
